Hurricane Isabel i wanted to start this topic to send my best wishes to any of yall that might be in the path of this beast.
I hope you all batten down the hatches, get the heck out of dodge,
make like a tree and get outta there, etc, etc, etc.
And if you are "brave" enough to stick it out, I hope you all stay safe.
I am in N.E. ohio and we are supposed to get the remnants after midnight tonight.
Here is a good radar image to keep tabs on Isabel:

Stay Safe !
Much Love,

Wow, I didn't realize it was going to reach that far inland. Hope all of you east-coasters stay safe!

Well, I am one of those East Coasters. I'm in Baltimore and the winds are getting bad. And my cable just went out for my TV, so I will be lucky if I can post this. I have the same cable company for my computer.
I'm just lucky I'm not closer to Ocean City. But schools are closed tomorrow!!
I hope all you other East Coasters make it thru. Thanks Varin and TerminalSkeptic for the kind words. Talk to you all soon.

Being in Florida, I was sure that Isabel wasn't going to change course, thank goodness she did. I just wish she kept on turning and stayed away from the States completely. My prayers are with all of you eastcoasters that are having a hard time with Isabel right now.

Well, I have successfully braved "my first hurricane" and I didn't even get a lousy t-shirt. Or a sticker
They shut campus down both Thursday and Friday, leaving me to pot about in my apartment as it rained like a mo-fo. I ran outside at one point to experience "hurricane force winds!" and was most disappointed as my shirt was not ripped off by the wind and I was not pelted in the face by flying newspaper boxes.
However, in great excitement the Baltimore Inner Harbor is officially under water. About waist-deep. World Trade Center, Baltimore? Flooded. ESPN Zone Floating Bar? No longer floating. Barnes and Noble Bookseller? Soggy.
All in all, a most exciting time
Hope everyone else had a delightful hurricane!

Scarpe, don't forget Bohager's (well known bar here), H&S Bakery, and Fell's Point.
I didn't know you were near me or are you just commenting on Baltimore?
It was the worst flood in history here. All those new condos by the water...
I'm just glad my part of the neighborhood has power. The next block over is still out. And I'm about 20 minutes from downtown Baltimore.

I heard an evil rumor that the glorious garishness that is the Bohager's outdoor tikibartentwoohadoodie thing is closing??? I haven't even gotten a chance to go yet!
I never made it to Fells Point on my excursion, the way was blocked by the evil po-po and their yellow security tape.

Fitz, is the Aquarium OK? The loss of the Hard Rock Cafe would be a blow, of course ( ), but the aquarium is right out there too . . .
And PS what the heck were you doing out there with your camera! That looks dangerous!

Odd.

I'm not sure if the Aquarium suffered any damage... Though I the walkway to the front entrance was flooded (see attached pictures)

I didn't go downtown. (I was a good girl and listened to the news and police when they said to stay away), but I should have. My friend works across the street from the aquarium and sent me the pictures.
Scarpe, you got some good pictures. The more pictures I see, the sicker I become. My 7 year old keeps asking when we can go downtown again...
And this weekend we are going to Ocean City, Maryland. I will post pictures of the damage there. Even though I don't think it's as bad as Baltimore. I hope not. They put up barriers years ago just for these types of storms.
