 		[Halo 2] Machinima
I just thought that I'd share a few good Halo machinima series with you guys that I found thanks to the ROP awards.

Some freaking awesome ones are:

Heart is a Lonely Hunter: (from thatweasel.tv)Description - "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" is a 30 minute movie made entirely with the game of HALO and $200 in pizza. It tells the story of Private Chade, the best event coordinator in the army, and the desperate plan to rescue him from the hands of the Scottish.

I actually found this to be funnier than Red vs. Blue.


The Codex: A Action/Drama series based in Halo. It's awesome and is Spartan vs. Covenant and is very, very well done. The editing is on par with Red vs. Blue.

Here's the link to their site. I highly recommend this series to all.


Some other decent ones are:

Outpost Coagulation: A Comedy/Action series that is a good series, not as good as the two above but still worth a look. It's based on Coagulation and is Spartan vs. Covenant based. I recommend this series.

Stryke Force: A Comedy/Action series that is all right but, it's just more of a rip-off of Red vs. Blue. It's entertaining but not really above average. I'd say watch it, there's only 5 episodes, and see for yourself.

I know Matt was bummed cause his thread was getting no lovin', but after seeing all these Machinima it got me thinking.....

After all the "Drama" lately, maybe we need a project. Something, in addition to playing Halo 2, to bring beekeepers (Beekeepers and E3) back together. I give you:

Spartans 1.1

SO CALLING ALL (ILB) BEEKEEPERS AND FRIENDS BEEKEEPPERS!

Note to Friends of Beekeepers: You will need to immurse yourself in ILBs history for you to understand the idea and feel of how the and ILBs based Machinima would work. http://www.ilovebees.com is a great place to start. Contact a beekeeper for more info.

The Idea: Spartans 1.1
It's time to continute the story of Jan and Durga. Let's pick up where 4orty2wo left off, and tell the story of the Spartan 1.1s. Machinima is the perfect medium to use to do this! Of course this would have to be "Fan Fiction" as MS owns the rights to ILBs, but as long as it is considered "Fan Fiction and we don't try to make money off of it we should be ok. (Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm sure you all will! Smile )

--If ILB was not Halo Cannon then MS shouldn't care, right??? Smile --

Someone will need to take the lead and run with this idea, as I do not have the hardware nor the time to over see the project, but I know some of you out there are talented enough to handle this.

This would be a major undertaking and on a grander scale than the skits/Brain Ninjas that we have done in the past. It will require deadlines and expectations on a higher level and everyone will need to contribute if this is to take off.

The Spartan 1.1 series should be more on the serious side and shy away from RvB style of humor. I would consider it to be more Drama/Action with a dash of humor here and there as ILB was.

The Spartan 1.1s
My basic idea, to start, would be to pick up where ILB left off. We would need a back story of how the 1.1s acquire Mark VI MJOLNIR battle armor, and weapons. Much like the 2.0 Spartans, the 1.1s would each specialize in a certain weapons. Forgive me for not going back and looking for these, but I need your help with the names of the other 1.1s, what their code name should be, and what weapn of choice they should have.

Name: Jan
Code Name: Walkaway_Girl
Weapon of choice: Pistol? (dual or single?)

Name: Insert Real Name
Code Name: Insert Code Name
Weapon of choice: Battle Rifle

Name: Insert Real Name
Code Name: Insert Code Name
Weapon of choice: Rocket Launcher

Name: Insert Real Name
Code Name: Insert Code Name
Weapon of choice: SMGs (Definitely dual)

Name: Insert Real Name
Code Name: Insert Code Name
Weapon of choice: Sniper Rifle

Name: Insert Real Name
Code Name: Insert Code Name
Weapon of choice: Warthog Driver Smile -- The Warthog IS a weapon --

Name: Insert Real Name
Code Name: Insert Code Name
Weapon of choice: Warthog Gunner Smile

Jan was the only one that I know of that had a "nickname"/Code Name, so we could be creative for the other 1.1s.
The Code Name is important for idetification "on screen" as the name displayed above the person will be their "Code Name". This may mean that we have to create new Xbox Live Gamertags in order to display the Code names. People with unique names (names not containing numbers -, and are code namish) could use their current Gamertags. For instance FugitiveSolider. If anyone is interested in changing their current live gamer tag, you can do so if you call the Xbox live number, this will however mean you lose your rank in all Xbox Live games and your friends list.

For realism, I think the 1.1s should all be the same color, and that we should rely on the player icons/ displayed names for idenification of the characters. The idetification by icon may not be effective, but we can evaluate that after we get started.
The color of armor could be changed depending on the type of environment they were in. (Example: Green or Black for combat, White for non-combat situations) The change of color of armor could be incorprated into the story line. IE one of the 1.1s figured out a way to make the armor color chameleon like. or they acquired multiple colors of armor.

We will also need people to play as Covenant Elites.

Each episode could be at a different location/mission for the 1.1s in their battle with the Covenant.

Production: Spartans 1.1

Below is the list of "production crew" that we would need and my nominations of who would be good to fill those positions. Forgive me if I overlooked anyone as this is off the top of my head.



IF your name is listed below it means that you were NOMINATED for the position but you HAVE NOT ACCEPTED (IE I haven't heard from you personally).

    We need:
  • Writers: TheBruce
  • Cinimatographer(s): Incitatus
  • Director(s): Incitatus
  • Editors: Mutant Squirral
  • Voice actors(We should have plenty of male voices so the Females will need to step up!):
    Females = Krystyn, Phaedra, Tsuki, Mrs. Waters
    Males = FugitiveSolider, Incitatus, Ubercado, Waters100
  • Experts on all things 4orty2wo: Phaedra... (duh!)
  • Experts on all things ILoveBees: TheBruce, Krystyn, Phaedra, FugitiveSolider, Incitatus, Weephun
  • Actors (People to control the characters, Not always the same as the voice actors): ANYONE!
  • Stunt Actors (People good at doing specific tricks/glicths to get to those hard to reach places/stunts):
  • Halo Universe-ologist: (to make sure we stay true to the Halo Universe): Anton P. Nym

So now it's up to all of you that are interested. If this takes off we will need a Locky! secure location Locky! (chat, forum, etc) to discuss and post episode ideas.

I'd be happy to participate, as long as my schedule allows. Either actor, voice actor, or both, whatever's required.

It'd be mostly evenings, as I work (as most of us seem to on the forums) all day, but I'd be happy to give over some time to doing this.

 		this sounds like fun!

i'd like to offer my services as a script writer, or even a voice actor in a pinch (we'll need to do auditions, but i think i could pull off Jersey if we ever need a cameo) don't forget Mrs. Waters for a female voice

for a Bungi-ologist, you really should contact Anton P. Nym, he's the man when it comes to this sort of thing

twizted, sorry about that song, i think it may have been lost in the "great dying" of mp3's off my hard drive a while back (its probably on a cd somewhere though)

Heh - Who knows the answer to this one?

Not me. FYI - no "fan fiction" or "not make money off it" exception to copyright infringement exists. Whether MS would stop you from making it? Who knows?

I think it sounds like a fun idea.

 		I am really really unhappy right now...I just wrote a whole really really really long post and then my computer crashed right as I was finishing it up. Basically it sais "Good idea with the Sparton 1.1, no one will care about the legal issues with it."
It also outlined the project me and Death Deli and Mutant were working on in extreme detail, which had yet to be completly written up. Evil or Very Mad Took me close to 20 minutes to write and I about pucnhed my puter when it crashed. Either way, more power to you, I'll rewrite that thing and post it sometime later, or Deli can write it out and post it. We actually have one of the about 7 scenes filmed already and Mutant says it looks really good, so who knows.

 		ok this sounds like a great idea. but if we are serious about doing it, its going to take a lot of time and discipline.

and we should set up a schedule for filming. im willing to do whatever needs to be done with this project but i need to know ahead of time in order to get on.

and we should limit the number of "actors" in the scenes to about three or four. and we have to be sure that the actors are going to go along with everything and not screw around. because ive seen a movie *cough*cops*cough that got really bad really quick. and part had to do with lack of discipline.

more things later. back to school now.

As the story goes, the main reason Kevin Morales wanted Jan along was because she had a access to Durga. Any 1.1 story really should have Durga along. I dont think that Durga would be able to split herself at will, unless AI's are able to copy themselves, i dont know about that part of the Bungie universe.

Correct me if I'm wrong on this... but I believe Cortana learned how (from a Covenant AI) to copy herself in the 3rd Halo book. Halo: First Strike .

See I never read the books so I dont know, but that means that Cortana knows how, maybe not Durga.

I dont know about that. the 1.1s are not military. they are staunch individuals and would deffinatly not be all the same, especialy Jan! They are a rag tag unit pulled togather from what ever resources they have around. Besides for charictor identification I think that, like RvB, different colors and icons are esential.

 		Sceen 1 suggestion. Start in Old Membasa, right after 1.1s find the cache of gear. see a bit between Morales and Jan. Morales yelling at Jan to get a move on as the covenent are attacking, Jan says something to the effect of "Hold your horses! A girl has to wear just the right outfit for a date like this" she steps into frame in armor "Dose this one make me look fat?". Morales fires a few shots off at the oncomeing covenent. "Yes, lets go."

Something to that effect. Or whatever.
