Quick question what do you think "bring forth the fruit of goodwill" means. Victor tells us on the celsusscholl.topcities.com page to:
Quote:
...watch carefully and bring forth the fruit of goodwill.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
and right under that Sam tells us in hidden text to: "...Please stay away and bring forth the fruit of goodwill."

Could be nothing. Just seems like strange languange and they both used it. Did i mention I'm bored?

ièm thinking phase 3 will be carried out on the 12th of October or possibly May 1st...call it a wild guess.
Phase 2 was carried out on the Èopen day for prospective studentsÈ the next event is parentéteacher day...but the Annual Celsus Party seems like a much bigger event...maybe that will be Phase 4...either way...keep an eye on these dates

Quote:
Here are some dates for your diary:

20th August - Open day for prospective students to come and look around campus.

12th October - Parents/teacher day where parents can come and get to know their child's teachers.

1st May - Annual Celsus party.

June 1st - Sports day where you child will compete for sporting trophies.

Quote:

In case I should ever forget , the
answer is the name of the folder .

In every haert of living man,
It longs to be let out,
Reering its head whenever it can,
It likes to scream and shout,
money makes it strong,
And it feeds off every wrong,
It turns a man tino a monster,
Only love can make it gone .

Got this mail from Thom this morning..

"you dudes! you asked if i could like take a picture of the crazy login
screen while i work on getting some screenshots......well i got greg to go
to the comp department and get the digy cam from them and stuff and i
managed to get a pic. its attached. this is my laptop connected up to the
network on my like desk thing in my dorm room. the long bit on the left is
the flash and it was just finishing when i took the pic. you cant really see
much right now so ill try and like get some screenshots and stuff for you. i
think i have a way to get past the nOOb security progs now.

LATERZ"

However, once opened, the attached screen.jpg (weighing in at precisely 0 kb) was simply a blank 1024X768 document, with nothing special in the headers in the way of revealing EXIF tags or hidden text. Bizarre. Maybe gmail just screwed up, did anyone else get this e-mail?

On reflection, if not something more similar, this was just a screwed-up transfer, I shot Thom back an e-mail asking him to re-send it.

Well, yet another instance of "Bring forth the fruit of goodwill".

Also it looks as though something is written on the yellow diskon the left side of the comp. Time to fire up photoshop.

**edit** at the top of the left side of the screen it also looks like it says "you" in lighter blue letters.

a google search for "fruit of goodwill" didn't reveal much. For what it's wortth the origin of this phrase seems to be from:
Henry Fielding
Miscellanies Volume 2
AN ESSAY ON CONVERSATION
Quote:

Let us compare these together. Cenodoxus proposes the satisfaction of
his own pride from the admiration of others; Sophronus thinks of
nothing but their amusement. In the company of Cenodoxus every one is
rendered uneasy, laments his own want of knowledge, and longs for the
end of the dull assembly; with Sophronus all are pleased, and
contented with themselves in their knowledge of matters which they
find worthy the consideration of a man of sense. Admiration is
involuntarily paid the former: to the latter it is given joyfully. The
former receives it with envy and hatred; the latter enjoys it as the
sweet fruit of goodwill. The former is shunned; the latter courted by
all.

probably nothing but just tugging on a string. The full text can be found here:
http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/etext04/wfld210.txt

edit it looks like this is the schools new motto according to a post on greg's blog.

New Greg Mentis LiveJournal entry.

"24 August 2005 @ 10:48 pm
Newsletter report

Hi guys it's late so this is a quick post for you. The newsletter that has the report on my ex-headteacher's absence has come through and has put me under even more stress. As if I haven't already got enough to think about...what with trying to trying to stop myself from going crazy and brainwashed and then trying to work out what the hell is going on (like who the hell is homebase?). I don't know see what you make of it. I copied it out for you because I couldn't take a picture as I had to give the camera back.

"Missing: Jeremy Allenson (ex-headteacher of Celsus School, Celsus).
Students, parents, staff and nearby residents alike are all shocked by the announcement of Mr. Allenson's unexplained absence.
On June the 3rd 2005 the community was informed by the deputy headteacher (who had assumed control of the school temporarily for obvious reasons) that Mr. Allenson had retired. Most people had presumed that this would be the case as Mr. Allenson had not been present at the school for at least two weeks. The deputy headteacher kept control of the school until it closed for the summer. Celsus School re-opened on August the 18th and the new headteacher (Victor Infusco, who has since introduced some radical changes to the premises) formally announced that Mr. Allenson had not retired but was in fact missing. The governing board had agreed to inform the students and the community that he had retired so not to worry children or parents until that school year had ended.

Jeremy Allenson had become well known in Celsus for his charitable and light hearted nature as well as his eternal commitment to education. At 50 years old he has spend 30 years teaching, 15 of which have been at Celsus school. He had been the headmaster for 6 years, working as an English teacher and then the deputy head before then. Recently there has been talk of him perhaps stepping down as many began to think that his relaxed attitude towards rules and teaching was not suited towards today's society. Therefore over the past 2 or 3 years he has not been a favourite for the headteacher position, but remained a strong figure in the community.

The police are refusing to release an official statement over Mr. Allenson's absence (which many have complained to be highly unusual) and are refusing to clarify whether or not there was a kidnapping involved. It has been leaked; however, that Mr. Allenson was under pressure from an unknown source about an unknown subject for quite sometime, making him stressed and irritable. His wife, Angela Allenson, was kind enough to speak with us, 'Jeremy is a kind and generous man who would never hurt a fly. I don't think he ran away because he would tell me, we were very close. The weeks leading up to his disappearance were difficult because he was very stressed about something which he would not explain to me. He simply said he could not tell anyone. I know he kept receiving strange letters and phone calls, but I can't find any trace of them. Please, if someone has any information, tell the police. I just want him back safe and sound.'

Although the police tell us they are continuing their investigation many still claim that they are being very relaxed over the case. There will no doubt be an inquiry after the investigation closes over whether or not the police carried it out properly.

We will keep you informed as this story unfolds."

Right then. Goodnight and I'll update you more on what's going on tomorrow."

(23:10:50) TheSaintCor171: We tend to see what others can't. That's why people love us.
(23:11:06) Gregmentis5: And discussing with one or two of you about the blank spots and who homebase could be
(23:11:22) Gregmentis5: Hehe I wish I was as good at puzzles
(23:11:41) TheSaintCor171: Join my club, greg. I try though.
(23:11:43) chippyAim: Homebase is a home and garden centre....
(23:11:44) JBstuntDouble: I love them. I'm never good at them, however.
(23:12:04) Gregmentis5: Chippy...I never thought of that
(23:12:21) graysonpitcher2: homebase=baseball!!
(23:12:32) Gregmentis5: I did think of that Doug
(23:12:37) JBstuntDouble: Maybe Homebase is a computer?
(23:12:44) JBstuntDouble: A.I. style computer?
(23:12:44) Gregmentis5: I don't know whether it means anything
(23:12:52) TheSaintCor171: homebase could also equal a point of reference.
(23:12:54) Gregmentis5: Like it thinks by itself?
(23:13:00) JBstuntDouble: Kind of.
(23:13:06) JBstuntDouble: It learns from everything that happens to it.
(23:13:09) Gregmentis5: Hmmm I guess it could be
(23:13:20) Gregmentis5: I don't know whether that is possible
(23:13:23) Gregmentis5: Tom will know
(23:13:29) JBstuntDouble: Smile Sorry.
(23:13:32) Onionring Sean: How is Tom?
(23:13:40) TheSaintCor171: Tom doesn't get on MSN much.

(23:15:13) Gregmentis5: Smile
(23:15:16) Gregmentis5: Hehe

(23:15:55) Gregmentis5: Man, it's so good to talk to people who are acting normally
(23:16:11) Onionring Sean: Noel Edmunds came from Crinkley Bottom didn't he?
(23:16:12) JBstuntDouble: How are others not acting normally?
(23:16:30) Gregmentis5: All over my school people are acting strangely, it's not that noticable but they just aren't themselves
(23:16:41) TheSaintCor171: I don't know... but atleast I have an excuse when people ask about it.
(23:16:47) Gregmentis5: Tom is fine, I just hope this crap doesn't get to him as well
(23:17:05) chippyAim: do you think Homebase is controlling things?
(23:17:11) Gregmentis5: Then all I have is you guys and it helps to have someone here with me aswell
(23:17:14) JBstuntDouble: Remember: Distract yourself from the music and videos.
(23:17:14) Gregmentis5: I don't know
(23:17:16) TheSaintCor171: Any chance of possibly recording any of this activity?
(23:17:29) Gregmentis5: I guess we should be asking whether Homebase controls Victor
(23:17:39) Gregmentis5: I did try distracting myself today
(23:17:43) Gregmentis5: It's really hard
(23:17:55) JBstuntDouble: Did you feel like you lost something from your mind?
(23:18:15) Gregmentis5: I haven't felt that recently (thank goodness)
(23:18:22) JBstuntDouble: That's good.
(23:18:2Cool Gregmentis5: It's horrible
(23:18:43) TheSaintCor171: Well, you know that moments in time just can't disappear.

(23:18:53) Gregmentis5: Your heart goes pitter-pat
(23:18:56) Onionring Sean: Have you told any staff at the school about it?
(23:19:00) Gregmentis5: Yeah I know
(23:19:10) Gregmentis5: No but I'm thinking of telling Mr. Terbily
(23:19:12) chippyAim: there must be one or two "cool" teachers?
(23:19:23) Gregmentis5: My physics teacher Mr. Terbily is cool
(23:19:34) chippyAim: he picked up the morse code didnt he?
(23:19:37) Onionring Sean: the one who leaves his door unlocked?
(23:19:42) TheSaintCor171: Do you have a school paper?
(23:19:44) Gregmentis5: Yeah he was trying to teach us how it worked
(23:20:02) Gregmentis5: Yeah we do have one but it gets given out to us in paper form (not online)
(23:20:32) TheSaintCor171: Well, I was thinking that you could possible write an article for it and submit it to the paper. See what kind of reaction it gets.
(23:20:50) JBstuntDouble: Would that be unsafe, Crusty?
(23:21:04) TheSaintCor171: Not if he doesn't sign his name to it.
(23:21:06) chippyAim: if its anonymous
(23:21:12) JBstuntDouble: Touche! Good idea, CB.

(23:21:5Cool Gregmentis5: I'll get right onto it in the morning I have a few free hours with nothing to do
(23:22:24) TheSaintCor171: It might get the other students to pay more attention to what's been going on. They might actually start noticing it.
(23:22:42) Gregmentis5: Exactly
(23:22:57) Gregmentis5: Yeah I will try this
(23:23:06) chippyAim: have you got a dictaphone?

(23:25:36) Gregmentis5: I have no idea
(23:25:51) Gregmentis5: Perhaps he's refering to you guys cracking into the school one?
(23:25:55) TheSaintCor171: Darn... I really don't want to e-mail him about it... but it looks like I'll have to.
(23:26:0Cool TheSaintCor171: Could be.

(23:27:07) Gregmentis5: Which post I'll just have a look
(23:27:12) TheSaintCor171: Could you do that? It would probably be quicker.

(23:27:23) TheSaintCor171: Hold on... I'll check...
(23:27:56) Gregmentis5: He's not around right now but I can catch him in the morning
(23:28:03) Gregmentis5: He's such a lazy ass sometimes
(23:28:35) JBstuntDouble: Do you happen to know what he might be out doing?

(23:29:47) Gregmentis5: Everyone is asleep at the moment and I'm using Tom's laptop
(23:29:59) JBstuntDouble: Oh.
(23:30:04) Gregmentis5: I had to install AIM (I'm going to uninstall it when I'm done Smile)
(23:30:04) chippyAim: have you noticed any strange behaviour amongst your fellow inmates- i mean students - calmer? more violent? happier?
(23:30:04) Onionring Sean: I see...
(23:30:12) TheSaintCor171: http://www.livejournal.com/users/digitaltom/1711.html
(23:30:32) Gregmentis5: Yeah a lot of them have changed slightly, some a little happier some more sullen
(23:31:07) museumoftoast entered the room.
(23:31:25) chippyAim: hello magical elbows / museumoftoast
(23:31:36) museumoftoast: Hi there. I'm also Sasha, by the way.
(23:31:45) JBstuntDouble: Hi, Sasha!
(23:31:52) Gregmentis5: Hi Sasha (sorry but I will have to go in a few minutes)
(23:32:04) TheSaintCor171: That's the link to the journel entry that I was talking about, greg.
(23:32:09) Gregmentis5: Where does it say about the site crusty?
(23:32:29) Onionring Sean: Hi Sasha
(23:32:42) TheSaintCor171: We've broken their defenses. The n00bs may be good at brainwashing you, but they suck at security.(Reply to this) (Thread) Re: The Machine digitaltom 2005-08-23 18:04 (link) what happened/??? did you cr4ck the site???
(23:32:54) Gregmentis5: Oh that looks like he's refering to you guys
(23:33:05) magical elbows musoftoast / sasha: Greg, what are the facilities like at your school? Is it an arts school? Do you have DV cams, or any such things?
(23:33:23) Gregmentis5: Because you found the wwwboard didn't you?
(23:33:26) TheSaintCor171: Okay... I'll have to backtrack to get the school site then. Thanks.
(23:33:37) Gregmentis5: Yeah, we have everything you would expect from a big school here
(23:33:39) TheSaintCor171: Personally, I didn't. But if others have then that's cool.
(23:33:51) TheSaintCor171: I'll find it if they have.
(23:33:55) Gregmentis5: Yeah that's how we found out about Sa,
(23:33:57) Gregmentis5: Sam*
(23:34:02) Gregmentis5: And about homebase and Victor
(23:34:1Cool TheSaintCor171: I just starting looking into this so I'm a little behind.
(23:34:21) TheSaintCor171: Smile
(23:34:27) magical elbows musoftoast / sasha: Because, I was thinking.. If you could somehow get ahold of a DV cam and set it to record, but leave the tally light off and the lens cap on, you could get an audio recording without anyone knowing.
(23:34:57) magical elbows musoftoast / sasha: Of either the music, or the announcements, or maybe even the headteacher talking. Any audio recordings would be really illuminating.
(23:34:57) Gregmentis5: Ok that's no problem
(23:34:59) chippyAim: or if he could find a dictaphone, he could put it in his pocket
(23:35:10) chippyAim: might help with the blank spots?
(23:35:20) Gregmentis5: I don't know
(23:35:23) Gregmentis5: I could look into it
(23:35:26) magical elbows musoftoast / sasha: That's true, but that might get crap reception - whereas a DV cam would be right out in the open, yet noone would bother checking it if the lights were off.
(23:35:36) Gregmentis5: I might be able to find someone with an MP3 player I can use
(23:35:3Cool Gregmentis5: To record
(23:36:03) TheSaintCor171: Well, the next time the fire alarm goes off, bring it with you.
(23:36:04) magical elbows musoftoast / sasha: Yeah. It would be a great idea to start documenting as much as you can day to day - with a notebook, a dictaphone, a DV cam, whatever - so you aren't left with any blank spots. I would suggest hiding such recordings, too.
(23:36:31) chippyAim: do the blank spots happen at the same time each day?
(23:36:34) Gregmentis5: That sounds like a good idea Smile
(23:36:3Cool Gregmentis5: No
(23:36:46) chippyAim: hmm Sad
(23:36:4Cool Gregmentis5: At different times
(23:37:04) Gregmentis5: Sorry if that burst a theory
(23:37:07) chippyAim: unpredictable then
(23:37:24) Gregmentis5: I better go now
(23:37:32) TheSaintCor171: Okay, nice talking to you...
(23:37:33) Onionring Sean: Oh
(23:37:35) Gregmentis5: I have classes first thing tomorrow morning
(23:37:3Cool graysonpitcher2: Nice talking to ya Greg
(23:37:41) Gregmentis5: I need to get some sleep
(23:37:42) graysonpitcher2: sorry I missed it all
(23:37:44) magical elbows musoftoast / sasha: Take care, Greg. Keep your chin up, and keep your eye out.
(23:37:49) Gregmentis5: I will get online tomorrow to speak again
(23:37:49) magical elbows musoftoast / sasha: We'll keep working on the puzzles.
(23:37:50) Onionring Sean: Ok.... see ya greg
(23:37:50) TheSaintCor171: We'll brainstorm in the meantime.
(23:37:53) graysonpitcher2: indeed
(23:37:55) Gregmentis5: Thank you guys, you're all great
(23:37:56) chippyAim: ok greg. night night
(23:37:57) graysonpitcher2: looking foward to it
(23:38:00) graysonpitcher2: night
(23:38:02) TheSaintCor171: we know
(23:38:03) magical elbows musoftoast / sasha: G'night.
(23:38:05) Gregmentis5: Night Smile
(23:38:0Cool JBstuntDouble: Alright, Greg
(23:38:0Cool JBstuntDouble: Night!
(23:38:10) JBstuntDouble: Wait!
(23:38:13) JBstuntDouble: One last question!
(23:38:15) Gregmentis5: Yeah?
(23:38:29) JBstuntDouble: Do you or Tom plan on buying Xbox 360 when it comes out?
(23:38:36) TheSaintCor171: haha
(23:38:36) Gregmentis5: I think Tom will
(23:38:3Cool Gregmentis5: Smile
(23:38:45) Gregmentis5: Night guys
(23:38:45) graysonpitcher2: wahoo!!
(23:38:47) JBstuntDouble: Alright. Thanks. G'night!
(23:38:4Cool graysonpitcher2: night
(23:38:52) Gregmentis5 left the room.
