This is not 4orty2wo.

Yeah, it's just Microsoft. They'll just make "confusion" the industry standard, and maybe six months after it's over they'll release a service pack... Wink

http://www.whois.sc/origenxbox360.com = Owner is Microsoft Corp
http://www.whois.sc/origenxbox360.net = Owner Unknown / Privacy
http://www.whois.sc/origenxbox360.org = Owner Unknown / Privacy

If you look at this information only origenxbox360.com is Legit and the other two could be a decoy .net .org ... so both are OOG for now

I think you'll find IGN rather uninformed on the whole OurColony/Origen end of the spectrum. They still post that OurColony was created and run by 4orty2wo. If I'm not mistaken 4orty2wo went on record as saying they were not involved in OurColony. I love IGN for other stuff but they really need to either follow the games closer or just not post articles about them.

OK, so far it's not an ARG at all. However, there really hasn't been THAT many puzzles and very few information. Would it be more proper to label this as a "True Timewaster"? Wink

Just found something kinda neat. Some of you may already know this, but for the record, www.xbox360.com is not only live, but has some interesting puzzle-y stuff. Click on the sets of dots for some of the stranger things. There's a maze-looking thing, and as soon as I get my computer back and no longer have to use campus comps, I'll post it. It may be nothing, but you never know. Think some of this stuff may tie into origen?

Ouch. If 4orty2wo isn't even involved and this is supposed to be a game with some ARGish puzzles, then MS isn't doing a great job.

I went back and checked, IGN did not claim that 4orty2wo was behind this. That theory (which someone mutated into an incorrect "fact') was put forward because of pixelated artifacts that looked like the numbers 4 and 2 in the bunny if you zoom in all the way.

Perhaps Ourcolony and (maybe) Origen are examples of MS seeing ilovebees and thinking they could do something similar without paying the outsourcing fee...

Only time will tell.

The rabbit

hi there,
i've found something that might help you. Inside the rabbit there is some writing. I believe the writing says, "all for 1"
more info from a friend suggests that it's one of the commandments 'thou shalt not hoard solves'

....how did i get 'all 4 1' from a '2' and '4' you ask?
well the '2' is actually an 'a' and next to that there are two vertical parallel lines. then directly underneath the 'a' there is a '4' and a space away from that there is a '1'
so it reads 'all 4 1'
hope this information has helped in some way! Smile

Hey,

Dit something:

DeCompiled the SWF file with Sothink SWF Decompiler
Hex edited (also with sothink)

http://xombouw.nl/pics/origen360-1.jpg
edit: Removed image tag because I don't like pictures that make the screen scroll - Rowan

Found this name: Magritte

A search at google shows the name of Rene Magritte, a painter.

One of the first pictures showen by google:
http://home.mtholyoke.edu/~aabertho/french/images/surrealism.jpg
Edit: Seriously, this picture has been quoted how many times now? I'm really kinda sick of seeing it (and the rest of this massive quote). It's just not needed to get the point across for your reply - Rowan.

(uh, the apple ???? )

A dutch website shows the text:
"Ik schilder niet, ik gebruik voorwerpen die mijn beelden weergeven. Ik ben geen kunstschilder die mooie kleuren op doek zet of iets voor het oog maakt. Ik breng het denken in beeld en maak daardoor iets mysterieus."

translated (i hope Wink )

"I do not paint, I use objects who shown my images. I am not an art painter who paint's beautiful colours on 'white sheet'(no translation for this) or make something to show the eye. I make the thinking as an image and of that making something mysterious."

Rene Margritte

(sorry for my bad english, maybe someone can make a better translation)

"Tree Of Knowledge"

"Alice In Wonderland"

"Tree Of Knowledge" (Adam & Eve, Forbidden Fruit) works the Tree and the MSN Apple.

"Alice In Wonderland" obviously works with the story of the rabbit and the hole.

We have the word "Magritte" hexed out of the SWF.

Edit: Trying to organize my thoughts...

stiff indeed lol.....see....again, i think we're on a good pace with one but overanalyzing on another. even if there was an all 4 one in the bunny it kinda wouldn't get us anywhere, and we still have this crotchpuncher of a countdown to deal with. i think we're one a good tangent though with the paintings. at least we can sorta see the influence on the page design. Whether "Magritte: Painting Hunter" will be released as a launch title has yet to be seen, but at least we have an idea maybe behind th eprocess...

after a quick think about it...i realised that 'thou shalt not hoard solves' might meen that the rabbit does not hide the solutions. So, effectively, the rabbit is just there to waste our time!
