The User name/ Password is probably given or hinted at in the book. Without having read it, I, and many others will be little help.

First, let me say that I haven't read the book.
Next, I have a couple of questions for you, Ploddish.
What were the username/password in the book?
Are you sure that site has something to do with the book?
A whois search shows:
Quote:
Created: 18-jan-2003
Expires: 18-jan-2006
Registrant:
Miller Brewing Company
{editted out address}
Milwaukee, WI 53201
US

Shocked A beer company?!
I doubt they would be behind this, but I could be wrong.
Red Bull-maybe {it gives you wings} ....but not Miller.
ilovebeer reloaded, anyone?

Good luck with your search!
edit:more better English Smile

That's interesting. Very interesting.

At first I thought that the whois would prove pretty conclusively that it wasn't connected to anything ARGish. After all, I live in Milwaukee, my uncle worked for Miller -- I know Miller. One of their trademarks is "high life." So, high life = higher living.

But when I googled "institute for higher living" and "miller," I got nothing. So instead I just googled "institute for higher living." And I found the blog. Did you already know about it?

Genetically-engineered angel kids. Nope, doesn't sound ARGish at all. Wink

What's interesting (and I didn't really read the blog, just skimmed it) is that there's apparently a female named Max. Anyone reminded of Dark Angel?

A 68 page thread that's been going on for 2 months on the book's official forum.. Conclusion: Nobody knows the password..

I doubt we'll be luckier if there isn't an actual puzzle at hand, just guessing things I assume from the book..

Oh, and another 14 year old girl with a blog.. right. Wink

Wow.. ok let's just say that after further exploration the server isn't that hard to exploit. They are using some fairly open technology and it's easy to get all the information you need.

But before I go all black hat on you guys can you please post the username and password from the book, and tell me the context it was used in (Was it a terminal login? A windows box? If it was getting in a company machine what was it called? etc.. as much info as you have..)

Unfortunatly I dont have the book with me (Damn my Aunt)

Plus there is only a password in the book (I can probbably squeeze it out of the people at the forums)

And yes I did know about that forum.

Thanks!

(P.S. A beer company!! Shocked )

EDIT: Ok, now that thats sorted, I guess Ill just wait of the password!

As this appears to be something game-ish, perhaps it should be moved to News & Rumors?

[Possible Trailhead] Wing Kids/Maximum Ride

For info look here:

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=184374

But basically, based on the new James Patterson Novel: Maximum ride ( www.maximumride.com ) Someone on the blog posted this: www.wingkidsarereal.com (Its not on the blog anymore but people were talking of it on the forums. Also look here:

www.instituteforhigherliving.com

Which is also in the book and this all sounded quite ARG ish to me.

So, what do you all think?

deleted the extra "e" in the url to make it work ~ varin
