[UPDATE] Eclipse Security - Air Conditioning Access As we know from the tech support phone thread, the Eclipse Security page has been updated with the following new information:
Quote:
Changes to your account regarding Air Conditioning subsystem access will be made within the next 48 hours (7:13pm BST 31st August)
We know from previous information on the page the following:
Quote:
Repairs to the air conditioning system are currently underway and most problems have been resolved. However, if you are operating any of the AC subsystems manually, you may experience interruptions or business data leaks during periods when regular maintenance is being carried out by technicians in the server rooms.
Does this mean that we can use the heat sensor log data to see a pattern for when people are working in Server Room 4? Maybe, at that particular time, something will be different (i.e. a "data leak") on the web page or heat sensor app?

I would say that we're meant to try to cause data leaks using the AC controls. Do we have real-time access to heat sensors or just historic data? If we have live data we could try to cause data leaks by mucking about with the AC when there's someone in the server room...

I should have posted this earlier but my aunt died the other day so I had no time...
I monitored the entire 26 day heat sensor log for SR4. There are 16 different employees who access the room( I tagged all of them).
15 of those work in 3 shifts of 5 each. The first shift is from Midnight to 8am, with the employees sitting at the left side of the room. The second shift is from 8am to 4pm, with the employees sitting at the bottom center of the room. Third shift is from 4pm to Midnight with the employees on the right side of the room. These employees work 7 days a week.
The 16th employee is more interesting: works a 30 minute shift from 21:30 to 22:00 hrs( 9:30pm-10:00pm) in the small office (?) at the south end of the main room 3 days a week( Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday)
I haven't had a chance to follow up on this and see if any of these employees show up on the logs for any other floors yet. But in terms of getting data via the AC controls, I would assume the best time for us would be when the 16th employee is in the office.

AC is up so GOGOGO people... lets get this thing cracked. We can make it crash but we must have to crash at certain times... like the server maintenance times...

Okay I provoked the thing into "crashing" it says;
SYSTEM CRASHED - CORE DUMPED (flashing)
and
#Error: Connection refused 634
#
#Shutdown.

Now is that whats supposed to happen but if done at particular times, will cause info leaks?
I did tihs by just switching on all the blue and red icons as quickly as possible.

The address that the program is attempting to access when it crashes is 70.86.38.82 port 12345. That address is registered to theplanet.com, which is also where the emails from characters are coming from.
Port 12345 sounds fake to me, but I don't know whether there is a valid usage for this port. http://70.86.38.82 leads to an Apache test page.

You guys DO realise that it's just a simulation? This Air Conditioning program isn't connected to the main AP systems...

EDITED FOR CRABBYNESS
Quote:
it ties into other standard Ascendancy Point data sources in exactly the same way as the full version.
th ONLY thing it doesnt affect i think is the actual AC system
