NEW EMAILS:

Toliero Del Santi is on the payroll of those who dare transgress on God's
domain, and has justly been assassinated by The Order of Control. We will
continue to control order, and order control, as long as the need arises.

The Subject "X" you seek has made himself curiously missing in the past few
days. The word I foresee is that he is shaking off the lead by the
hypocrites who secure security for a land by defeating others, not
protecting their own.

The allegory behind all this is that none shall predict the bee who keeps
the conspiracy tight. For this person, they are all the bees and none of the
bees at once.

You will be surprised at how effective The Order of Control can be when it
comes to uprooting the branches of dissidence. Moreover, you will be
surprised by how nobod'shda can stoapo teh Consap try!

I've tried ROTing and anagraming LEHASHIM but to no avail. The first one seems to be errors spelling something out, but I, erm, need to work out how to put my Leeds festival tent up now, so I'll have a look later.

yusufnong, there are many strong ties between the Blackwolfs and the Bureau. Senator Jennifer Blackwolf was a good friend of Bureau leader, Gladys Corcoran, and 22 tried to recruit Irina Blackwolf, Mr. Blackwolf's mother, to work on Project Fatemaker, but Irina could not pass the tests. Also, Senator Blackwolf and Mr. Blackwolf were both cloned by the Bureau. Senator Blackwolf is nearly phobic about tattoos, which all of the clones have, suggesting she knows about the clone/tattoo connection. For Senator Blackwolf to be ignorant of the Bureau is a bit of a stretch, but anything is possible. If she is not the one who wrote the comments in pencil on 22's questionnaire, I do not know who did it.

maybe not, I sent some answers to 22, too, and have not received a reply. I forgot about Darwin Twain, good catch. Answers 7, 9, and 10 are the wrong ones, I'm assuming. I think Subject 1 is the rumored fifth survivor. If you look closely at the Project Fatemaker memo, you can make out the word Bureau in the line for Subject 1. Also, I have a theory that Adam Fritz is actually Subject X. He has a tattoo on his shoulder, and he wants to destroy the clones because they remind him he's a copy.

Lewis the Second, a LEHASHIM is a magical Hebrew amulet referenced in in the Bible and used to charm snakes, etc. Fits with the stolen Bureau device, Snake, which Lazarus Mihail is using. It may not ROT or anagram to anything. I'm also speculating that the typos at the end of Lazarus Mihail's email are due to his blindness (similar to what happened in his last email) and not part of a hidden message, although I could be wrong.

The twins had their birthday party yesterday, which is most likely the party to which Lazarus Mihail refers. I cannot place the name Toliero Del Santi. Obviously, De Bestellingsverzameling did not like him, seeing as they killed him. Mihail's connection to the Bright Awakening cult makes me think that Del Santi was not in that faction, either. I'd place him with the Bureau, based on Mihail's characterizing him as being "on the payroll of those who dare transgress on God's domain." Mihail's derogatory comment about "hypocrites who secure security for a land by defeating others, not protecting their own" makes me think that he's squarely against the American government and STRNS, which makes sense. I'm not sure where to go with this information. It is interesting.

Lewis, although I was wondering who Caleb was, the LEHASHIM email seemed to fit right in with the rest of Conspiracy of B, what with the whole snake/Bible theme.

The twins have updated their blog with more details about the death of Toliero Del Santi.

maybe not, I cannot make sense of the coded message, either. It does not ROT to anything, nor does it seem to be a Vigenere cipher. I do not know what to make of the random apostrophes scattered throughout the message.

EDIT: Type out the letters one key to the right of the letters in the message to get:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
dear j.b. your operatives have been successful in locating from a warehouse in Portland, Oregon and we are currently checking for any suspicious activity. Aside from that, no fingerprints or any other genetic material were lifted from the site. A business card, to a Paige Preston, was found at the location. We will update you further.

I did not realize the code was a keyboard shift until after I had worked out about two thirds of the message by simple substitution. Took a while for it to dawn on me that s=d, w=e, f=g was a keyboard shift.

Good find on your part, discovering the message.

Well, okay....

The small print, when I expanded it, said:

There is some files we cannot properly access. We need the access codes, ASAP. Thank you.
Note - there is no yet new discovery on the warehouse at Portland, Oregon, but we have confirmed that a 'Paige Preston' indeed lives in the city. No criminal record or any sign of her connections to any rival of the Blackwolf family. You will be further informed.
PS - I hope there is no suspicion?

I'm currently dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. My parents, who have lost their home and everything they own in New Orleans, are staying with me in Baton Rouge indefinitely. Luckily, everyone in my family is safe and sheltered. There are far too many who are not.

I will not be around much, and I did not want to disappear without a trace. Here is the last message I have received. Maybe one of you can follow up on it.

Good luck to all of you who see the Conspiracy of B to its end. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

CofB's Post-Mortem

After a period of inactivity, caused in part by my own inability to continue the game (what with school taking over too much of my time), I have decided to pull the plug on my maiden Alternate Reality Game: the Conspiracy of B.

It ran on for quite awhile, and very well for a newbie who had only heard of ARGs three days before starting his own.

You will notice my username points to... well, an accidental leak at the very beginning of the game. Conspiracy is my one of my proudest achievement in my short 15 years of life so far, in which I created a storyline by melding from many of the stories I had written and shelved away somewhere (my desire is to become a novelist one day, you see).

Conspiracy was a one-man job (though occasionally aided on by several friends) and what I think made it tougher was the fact that I am from Malaysia, which practically made any physical aspect of the game impossible (or very expensive). Towards the last days of Conspiracy my parents banned me from the Internet, so I was stuck in a rut and could only be active very rarely.

I had a lot of fun making the game, which revolved around the failed Project Fatemaker... and led to a new faction (The Bureau of Technicalities)... which led to a key plot device (the introduction of Jennifer Blackwolf)... which led to De Bestellingsverzameling and others.

I struggled with my failing schoolwork and trying to ensure that I didn't disappoint the Conspiracy players. But it all ended to one thing: I just couldn't continue Conspiracy anymore. I was extravagantly ambitious, and I just couldn't do it.

Conspiracy worked on a budget of $0. I didn't spend a single cent on making this game, which I believe is a first (or one of the first) for this genre. I must thank John Walker for launching the game for me (apologies for having to harass you with a trailhead). His article was the one thing that got me to create an ARG, and I did so with incredible haste. Perhaps I have talent in ARG-making (at least in making a story), perhaps I might be hired onto a professional ARG. Perhaps not. Who knows?

I will end by telling that I will soon be assembling a team to create a hopefully better ARG soon, to end the question I have posed to all my players, "What is the Conspiracy of B?" If anybody is interested in helping, please contact me. The budget will be minimal, if not nothing at all.

Thank you for letting me have my stand. It was an experience few get to attain, the chance of building a game - even if it must fail before the denouement.
