18.28.47.18 is driving me crazy

you might think I'm crazy, because I haven't seen this posted anywhere else.

But I saw a frame in last nights episode with 2 clapboards (those things that hollywood uses for each take of a scene).
I believe it was in the fast montage of Push Businesses, when Agent Smith and Jim were discussing how the mob made all the money by owning the businesses in Push.

The clapboards had 18.28.47.18 in the foreground, and 18.28.48.18 in the background. It was those new fangled digital clapboards.

I tried them as IP addresses, and didn't get anything. However, I did notice that any IP address that starts with 18 belongs to MIT.

I don't have a screen cap, but did anyone else see this? Any spec on what it means?

problem is, haven't found any that fit the pattern.

other #'s i saw were:

Clapboard numbers.

I didn't catch this live, so I'll have to go back to my tape and look.

As it stands, if it is supposed to indicate time code, the fourth set of numbers - the frame count (30 for video 24 for film) should count up before the third set - the seconds count changes up. That is to say the .18 should count up to .23 or .29 and reset to .00, which triggers the .47 to change to .48 .

I'll take another look. And given our producers' East Coast proclivities, MIT may not be a bad place for an IP to be from...

more later,

-m

MIT...isn't that the school Matt Damon's character worked in from the movie Good Will Hunting? Maybe just a little nod to Ben's buddy.

My take on this is, these clapboards are simply quick and dirty oversight edits done on a too-tight schedule in post production. TV series are on such a tight timeline, it's absolutely unbelievable, and I'm sure everyone was working overtime on this, since things were so fluid with the cancellation.

The numeric sequence follows the standard SMPTE timecode format: Hours/Minutes/Seconds/Frames

Notice the second set isn't above 59, same with the third, and the fourth isn't greater than 24 or 30, depending on the format they were using.

My guess: Actual clapboards displaying actual SMPTE timecode that slipped through the editing process in post-production. Not a clue.

Altough, it would help if someone could post a srceencap.

And *my* take on it is that it's all about the 47.

Clapboard screenshot

Here's the screenshot of the clapboards. It could be a post production error, but it seems so out of place among the rest of the shots. It's an interior set while the rest of the shots in that montage were exteriors. Kinda looks like the bank scene from episode 5. Confused
