 		Interestingly, a letter frequency analysis of that text matches almost exactly with the letter frequency of standard English.

... that it's clearly not a substitution cipher of any sort. I wondered if it might be a periodic thing, and lo and behold, it is.

Taking every third character, being sensible about the spacing and correcting a few transcription errors, we get:

First set: anier amonasro manipulates her into discover lave-girl and radames which angers her for she is also in love with radames radames rrtuer of the egyptian army is the man tha group of ethiopian prisoners included in the group is amonasro her fi

Second set: an ethiopian princess enslaved by the egyptiaing the battle plan of the egyptian army from radames he is discovered giving the detailrns to egypt victorious along whs and is sentenced to be buried alive his love voluntarily joins him

Third set: ti princess senses the feelings between thesfns is torn between love of her homeland family and the man who loves her radames commands to her and to amonasro by amner she loves he is sent off to fight the ethiopian invasion amneris an egypta

Now, we obviously haven't got all the letters transcribed perfectly, but even so this looks like the following synposis of Aida (lifted from here):

Aïda, an Ethiopian princess, is torn between love of her homeland, family and the man who loves her. Radames, is the man Aïda loves. He is appointed Commander of the Egyptian Army and sent off to fight the Ethiopian invasion. Amneris senses the feelings between Aïda and Radames which angers her for she is also in love with Radames. Radames returns to Egypt victorious along with a group of Ethiopian prisoners. Included in the group is Amonasro, Aïda's father. Amonasro manipulates Aïda into discovering the battle plan of the Egyptian Army from Radames. He is discovered giving the details to Aïda and Amonasro by Amneris and is sentenced to be buried alive.

 		Some of the errors are probably mine. I made the puzzle many months ago, put it away before I proofread it, and didn't have time to do so before I sent it to jchillerup. Embarassed Most of the rest are probably because the font is hard to read.
