Displaced by Katrina, help me solve this puzzle

First of all, this is not a joke. I am from New Orleans and evacuated last Sunday. It might be a long time before we are allowed back into our homes to assess the damage. In the mean time NOAA has put up these aerial pictures of the city:

http://ngs.woc.noaa.gov/katrina/090E29M_KATRINA.HTM

However, the individual images have not been tied together or rotated for orientation, and they are loosely placed on a sketch of the area, so it's extremely difficult to navigate.

I've seen the folks in this site do amazing things when it comes to image puzzles...could I ask you guys solve this one? I know creating one huge pic might not be feasible, but at least rotate and rename the pics in some sort of grid. I'd be very grateful. If it's solved, I would post the results in a local website we're using to gather data.

Thanks!

Nola,

theres been a whole plethora of grassroots mapping efforts about Katrina. Here are some links:
http://www.scipionus.com/ which allows people to annotate the google map
(also be aware that google maps have included these latest NOAA katrina imagery) and its availble for Google Earth too
http://earth.google.com/katrina.html
that page also has several very large satellite images / user submitted images, some very large files there

Thanks to everyonw for the replies. The pics in the site I posted are taken from a plane at 7,500 feet, so they have a lot more resolution than the satellite pics.

the images are pretty raw. GIS speaking. Compleatly unprojected and or corrected. It would be quite a job to properly peice them togather. Not that it cant be done, but Im sure that NOAA is working on it right now, it just takes some time. the georefrenced photos will probably be out in a few days.
