Return of the Wildfires? Well, we all know that the PMs were interested in doing a second game. I was idling in #immersionunlimited overnight and saw this when I woke up:
Quote:
[04:49] * Occulus has joined #immersionunlimited
[04:52] <Occulus> Any one know anything about Bishop Imports and its connection to Wildfire Industries?
[05:05] * Occulus has quit IRC (Client closed connection)
That could lead, potentially, to here
Is it back?
Actually leads here

On insom's suggestion, tried translating the skus.
Here's what I got
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The skus are ASCII values in octal, all strung together. This is what I got out of it.
150 145 154 160
h e l p
122 145 144 160 151 154 154 163
R e d p i l l s
155 141 152 145 163 164 171
m a j e s t y
070 160 155 155 143 164
8 p m m c t
I assume that second-to-last letter is supposed to be a d and not a c, to make mdt.

Wow, I really hope this turns into another Wildfire! I've looked around a bit, but don't have much time at the moment. There are several E-mail addresses to use, including one that you can request to be hired with, and also a form to submit your information (the product request forms).
Will look into this more later.
Edit: I submitted my information here .

This seems like it's tied into The Matrix Online.. - for instance, the mention of the Merovingian and redpills - rather than being Wildfire-related.
Also, Ueno, rather than referring to the district in Tokyo which confused me at first, is a district in MxO in which Bishop Imports appears to reside.
I'm thinking our visitor from the first post above got the WI connection from the bishopimports.net whois and a bit of googling...
It's still interesting tho.

DSmithX1320: I thought you were going to go away.
FireflyX1999: No no no... I'm just getting warmed up... why would I go away?
DSmithX1320: Because you said if I did your little shit, you'd go away. And I did it... so go away.
FireflyX1999: I never said that... nope... never...
DSmithX1320: Look, I got work tomorrow...
FireflyX1999: How is old Bishop doing? Good I hope?
DSmithX1320: Good night!
FireflyX1999: Nice green boxers.
DSmithX1320: WTF?
FireflyX1999: I'm across the street... third window from the left...
DSmithX1320: You're not Firefly...
FireflyX1999: I am now...

So they're piggybacking off a previous audience?

Using their already established fan base...

Incit: you can get to that 'Products' page by scrolling to the bottom of the 'Home' page. (also 'News')
The "Products" pages are where JustLurking got the sku's to decipher into whatever he posted up there^^^

On a hunch, I used the search function to look for other instances of "redpills". Success.
Quote:
You think they'll find out?
No... of course not.. why would they?
Because you know redpills ... they find a way into everything.
But you make one mistake?
What's that?
They're going to help us this time... whether they do or they do not ...
I also noticed that both this and the "Error 404" page contain tracking info that will let the webpage authors know they've been read. Done as a convenience for the PMs, or as a security measure by Bishop Imports?

*Sigh* I knew I shouldn't have been a bad boy and taken a vacation from Unforums and Immersion.
What you all are looking at is a project I aided on designing with a group of friends for Matrix Online. We're out of events in the game because Sony Online Entertainment fired all of the Live Events Actors, so the game has been crippled in storyline. So, it's been left to the players to make events.
The website of Bishop Imports is tied into a small 5 day event called "Something Interesting". A little event a group of us put together, and I wrote. However, thanks to horrid website hosting, most of the site doesn't work right and the e-mail fails all the time, leaving us in a pickle. The puzzles were simple because most of the MxO community isn't apt to doing puzzles like you guys, and alot of the interactions center in, of course, Matrix Online, requiring you to have a game account to understand the mini-arg when it ran.
I thank you all for your interest, but, I'm sorry to say that someone put you on a wild goose chase. Sorry again guys.
PS: Only fun thing about this mini-ARG was that I got to script large scale gun battles.

Wait a tick... delusional, you are the man! That's why the e-mail isn't working!
*Runs off to go check something*
EDIT: The account was trying to forward all of my mail to Firenze... that's the error in the equation... so now mail works... well... maybe I can figure out the rest of these errors...
