Mabey i'm missing something here but....
For C base=2h height=h+1 h=2
so base=4 height=3 area=12
C=base(area-1) = 4(11) = 44
Edit: i think i must be missreading D but this is what i got
y=h2c^2-7hx+6h
D=2c where y=0
taking h=2
0=4c^2-14x+12
14x-12=4c^2
3.5x-3=c^2
so 2c= plus or minus the square root of (3.5x-3)
i can't imagine the answer would be that convoluted so where did i screw up?

Your mistake here is C = b * (area-1) ... not base ... so C = 8(11) = 88

You are misreading it, though I doubt its your fault. His x's are splitting its supposed to be
y= hx^2-7hx+6h...and all the h's drop anyways
d=x where y = 0, so its just simple derivatives from there

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the clue is "sweborg?", i believe the original coronersweborg puzzle was a periodic table of elements puzzle, so:
a b c d f g b = 5 8 88 6 1 53 8 = B O Ra C H I O (Boron Oxygen Radium Carbon Hydrogen Iodine oxygen)
(i think Borachio is a character in Much Ado About Nothing)

To keep the progress current, I'm posting the next solve. This solve goes to Catherwood!
Maybe Catherwood can elaborate when she returns from her meeting.

I turned 41 on Tuesday. No Parade, no birthday cake... just some pie.

Using this translator, I got:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Smoke in the glen and no fire there
So where do you see smoke without fire? (in a low-lying area)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
mist

For the next one we played around with the picture, mainly focusing on what the hell the reflection down there could be.
Right when I wanted to give up I tried one last thing and got it this way:
Btw, I think the reflection is just another lamp (there's one in the top right corner).
Honestly, who cares (except myself, apparently)?

Happy birthday
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Definitely agree with the first two. For the rest I had:
3. Maynard James Keenan
4. Oscar Wilde (or Canon Chasuble is the character?)
5. Derek/Derrick (Mahon) - I had to google a lot for this and they couldn't decide on the spelling.
However in the source there are some dashes that look like we ought to be fitting the answers into (see below), and Maynard doesn't fit for the third one. Maybe someone else has a scorpion on their back, or I'm being too literal thinking of tattoos. Hum.
