There's just no way that we can hope for anything other than a vague reference, and honestly even that will very likely end up on the editing room floor.

an ILB movie would be a dream, but won't happen, officially... maybe if anyone's in the movie making business, or knows someone who is, maybe one could be made in the independent market... Sundance? Toronto International? then we could trust that the script won't be hollywoodized... Cool

it'd be hard to do.. i mean there is so much going on at once... there's our side.. the future's side... then all the backstory about yasmine... and also if they choose to, the alternate realities/stories about SP and such (like the whole living in the castle thing hiding from the giant spider or whatever.. perdita's story (not important whatsoever but it'd be good to add if we wanna quote how the clockwork rat got to yasmine) and all the dialogue between SP and the PF)
maybe a mini-series or a trilogy, but it seems kinda hard for an average length film..

and i still think it'd be cool to make a game where you can play as jersey or something in the navy.. or possibly the aftermath of the kamal-durga relation... i dunno. people make creative video games all the time. i mean look at the new ffvii spin-offs.. they got games involving the turks, vincent, a movie w/ cloud and all them, and another game and another movie/cartoon thing..

Technically...

An ILB animated movie could very easily be created, by just drawing scenes corresponding to the audio track. Reverse-dubbing, so to speak.

Still the rights would be a problem.

With Peter "Freaking" Jackson at the helm, they may want to use more of it than we would expect.

Jackson, post LOTR, seems to be into making movies feel deep and more realistic and immersive for the audience.

ILB was, like it or not H2 fanboys, the most real and eep part of the halo story. it didn't just take you through the mind of a warrior, but they showed you what it was like on the home front, how everyday people responded and lived with the events. it brought you down into a reality more real than badass warriors shooting aliens.
For a hard core action movie, no, doesn't feel like it would ever happen. But if Jackson has it his way, I'm sure it will fall into the category of 'Epic', which would definatly want to include as much depth as possible.
does that mean it must have an entire sub plot of ILB related material. No.
But it could use many small refferences by marines about how their families are doing, the refferences to chatters, refuse, how the ordinary men and women are dealing with whats going on, and the subtlely growing panic. seeing as the events of the apocolypso's crash occured shortly before the events in halo1, they can even throw in some marine jibjab about the CP net crashing, the apocolypso, maybe the "op".

Of course, i am probably wrong. But it's still nice to think froma rationally biased perspective on such matters. Smile
