[FINALISED!] CubeFest, Sat 10th Sept, 2PM, London

It's all you ever wanted to know about CubeFest but were afraid to ask!

CubeFest I
The Ha Ha Bar, Villiers Street, London
Saturday 10th September, Starts 2PM

Note that the location has changed from the HaHaBar near Oxford Circus to one a few minutes walk from Charing Cross. Here's the website, here's a Google Map, and here's the London Transport Journey Planner. If you're coming from further afield, you can use the national rail journey planner! If you book train tickets TODAY, you'll still be able to get the 5-day advance discount. As before, the venue is happy to accomodate U18's until 6pm, and as before, you're responsible for yourself, so don't sue me if you graze your knee!

Featuring!

A welcome and talk from Mind Candy, guaranteed to involve song, dance, and a representation of the PM experience through mime (warning: this is not a guarantee) plus the chance to ask your questions;

An lovely MC-sponsored buffet from HaHa's "awesomely talented chefs";

Chit-chatting card-swapping drink-imbibing far-out-speculating activity;

And possibly more that I'm last-minute arranging.

If there's anything cool you'd like to see provided, then PM/email/IM me, catch me on IRC, or just plain old-fashioned reply to this post. Feel free to bring any stuff that you think might be fun!

Other news:

Need more cards? Of course you do! Fortunately, Playlounge in Beak Street is only about a mile away, so you can swing by there before festivities begin. Here's a Google Map showing the route.

Confirmed/likely attendees so far:

Quote:
MC: Michael Acton-Smith, Fiona Silk, Dan Hon; Players: Wishi-San, GuyP, Seej, Snowball, Sasuntsi Davit, European Chris, chippy, Reason, wintermute, Rob_Riv, JebJoya, oliverkeers13, Juxta, perplexed, PCGF[Jay], kraed, icklemelly, tanner, mikeyj's mysterious representative

I'll be updating this top post if needs be. Unfortunately, there won't be a webcast this time around, but we'll endeavour to set that up for future events. Oliver has sorted out a DV camera, but if other people want to bring them too, then the more footage the merrier.

Also, I'll have a nose around for fun places to go for those who want to party into the evening, and see if I can find some cheap-as-chips accomodation for people needing somewhere to stay.

Look forward to seeing everyone there.. Smile

To clarify about the webcast, Mind Candy said that they thought that Scarlett would be happy to host the footage. Unfortunately we can't offer a live web stream, but the footage will be available afterwards.

Also, Mind Candy have just contacted me. They will lay on a buffet for us, so YAY!

TWELVE??? That's rubbish

I'm going to bring copies of the article my friend wrote all about ARGs whihc is very good if anyone cares/is interested. It's very good.

Also, I recommend either The Sherlock Holmes, The Chandos or The Retro Bar as pubs which are good to watch the cricket-or Regents park for the large screen.

Things in the evening=Good pub in Marylebone with a Garden having a barbeque which sells great Pear Cider until 11.00.

And After; Popstars/Fabric/Oval Tickets from a tout for Sunday's play for the hardcore. Twisted Evil

Twelve confirmed people. I was slightly drunk when I wrote that so it may seem a bit ott. I was expecting an orgy of gamers. Hey ho. It'll still be a laugh

Oh :censored:!

Hey,

I only got my first pack of cards yesterday but already I love this!

Anyway, I wish I could be at the Cubefest but Im away! I hope another one gets organised in about 3 months (back to uni in 2 weeks, then there for 2 1/2 months).

Hope it goes well for everyone who goes.

Mr Wizard

I'm sure there'll be more events in the future, both directly PXC/MC-run and unofficial player meetups. Hopefully we can learn over time and the course of things will run a little smoother, and they'll get bigger and better Smile

Quick thank you to everyone at Mind Candy for giving us the chance to pester them for hours with silly questions (and for footing the bill), Oliver and Guy for the setup and everyone else for turning up and being generally very agreeable, welcoming sorts. A thoroughly enjoyable day for all concerned - well, for me at least.

J
