Here's the text from a card provided in advance on cubefest 2005:

Quote:

At Perplex City, We've been told that ARGS, or Alternate Reality Games, are the next big thing

1) On what day was Evan Chan Killed?
2) Which princely Security Guard Saved the King
3) What community service did Steve Peters, Aveena, Rowan Lambelle (and others) provide?
4) Which fruity character slew the beast after only a week?
5) Who did the notorious Lt. Weephun Rat Out?
6) Who links synthasis and Aglaura and Mid-Jersey mobile?
7) Jung'f Gur zbfg birehrrq zrgubq bs pbqvat grkg va netf?
Cool A famour delacacy in the arg communit, often lovingly presented to the beginner player
9) Which soviet group suceeded where the philadelphian experiemnent didn't?
10) What's the name of the most feared coroner in teh 22nd century?
11) What is the answer to teh only puzzle teh cloudmakers issed? If only they had taken a view from above and gazed upon the sights,,,

Y2K,

Thanks for the fill-ins... what games are they from? I'm convinced that #9 is from Command and Conquer, but I can't prove that just yet.

Thanks,

Loric

#2, 4 and 10 are all from The Beast. #4 was a player and not an in-game character.

Holy crap! I (in my nifty ARG alter ego) made it onto a PXC card??? And here I'm not even playing (Although now I want this card. Anyone who has an extra willing to sell me one? If so, PM me as I rarely look at these boards. Total fluke that I saw this actually.)

edit: Juxta, I <3 you!! You completely and totally rock. Thank you so much!

As for the answer, I'm not sure but as I dont think I've done that much for the ARG community, here is my best guess.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I created the guide for I Love Bees. I think Steve did one for Lockjaw and Aveena did Chasing the Wish's.

Basically, within a week of the Cloudmakers coming together, fuzzymelon came up with a theory about what happened to Evan - a theory that just happened to turn out correctly.

If you're a member of Cloudmakers group, you can view the post here.

Yes, but Command and Conquer wasn't an ARG as far as I'm aware.

Although I didn't play this game, I am pretty sure I know the answer (thanks to a general idea of the game plot and addie's guide)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm pretty sure this is from Acheron and that the Soviet group was SPECTRUM. You can read a little bit about it here.

C&C as an ARG

Rowan,

Some of the C&C games revolve around an alternate timeline that Einstein causes as a result of killing Hitler in the 20's. As a first step toward solving #9, I had just put in 'Philadelphia Experiment' into Google, and flipping through a couple of sites made me think about C&C, but your explanation is *much* better... so, to sum up:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

1. March 9th, 2142 (Friday)
2. Mike Royal
3. An online community to discuss ARGs (? it's not just one site)
4. Fuzzymelon2000
5. The Sleeping Princess
6. Dale Sprague
7. ROT-13 (What's the most overused method of coding text in ARGs?)
8. A trout
9. SPECTRUM
10. Coroner Sweborg
11. Founder

Thanks to Y2K, Jamesi and Rowan for their answers, as listed in the thread above.

Thanks,

Loric

Just so you're aware, I personally have never created such a thing. If that was the answer, the names would probably be more along the lines of Steve Peters, Spacebass, and Bill. The answer I gave above was very specific and was more of a resource rather than your answer.

3 is more likely to be "Game Guides" or suchlike, as it wasn't just the ILB guide maker named, right?
