WAIT!

Why does everybody think it's solved yet? What about the figures?
1. (9)
2. (5)
3. (9)

It's a palindrome.
But what does it mean?
I don't think we have solved this one yet [NOT SOLVED]

We don't need to look at every card under a UV light!

That's right... I guess I am just over-excited about this game, and I want to do evrything possible with my cards (The store won't open before tomorrow, and I have only got 6 cards) Razz

There looks like what is either a letter K or H in the reflection of one of the cats eyes and the number 9 in the other

Yes, I've looked at all my collection under UV and only seen anything on #146 - You Are Cordially Invited

Seal Point

The cat in the photo is actually a seal point (even though their correct answer isn't seal). Dreadful misleadingness. If it was chocolate it would be much lighter with no black to be seen.

Hi Jammada, and welcome Smile

I won't dispute your knowledge of the feline of the species, but you might want to argue it out with Justin Berkovi, or at least tell him what kind of moggy he has Wink

I know this one has long been solved, but perhaps one of you Brits could explain this puzzle type to the rest of us. I understand this type of word game is printed commonly in UK newspapers?

cryptic crosswords

They are cryptic crossword clues. Hopefully the below link can point you in the direction of some examples.

http://www.crossword-puzzles.co.uk/

Cryptic clues quite often involve anagrams or synonyms or finding the answer within the clue, so a clue might be "spoken in a low or deep voice" and the answer is "word" - the "in" is a clue that the answer is literally in or part of the clue.

Quite often crossword puzzles will have a set of standard and cryptic clues which give the same answers, so you can do it the easy or the hard way.
