Alias Web puzzle 2.5?

recently received an a-mail from a yahoo.com user that told about a rogue agent posting to the Alias Online Adventure. I originally e-mailed him about help with one of the missions. The User's email was full of information about someone threatening the Alias Online Adventure game. He said he needed my help to get the identity of the rogue poster. Could this be a continuance of the alias web puzzle we know and love? please help!

INFO: SNA/eastermole (puzzle?)

The email received has hence been found out to be from dallasSPLATastound.net who posted some strange numerical puzzle posts (as yet unsolved) on the Alias Online Adventure board on abc.com. Dallas has hence directed players to this yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/spynetworkagency. But all players who haved tried to join have not been successful. All contacts with SNA and the pm's (?) on this possibly rogue puzzle have yielded little info.

What we've found so far- eastermole ID has a yahoo account as of 10/1/03. eastermole posted on abc.com back in Sept. yet the initial tag/contact for this "puzzle" was in 8/03. Other Yahoo ID's involved: thespy133, striker001us, wdg3d. Email to the thespy133 ID bounces so it might be a secondary.

Today, email to dallas addy returned a new address to contact for your handler- wdgrinagerSPLATcsbsju.edu. Leading to a real website for a religious school. Emails to this addy have returned some replies- Have you joined the Yahoo Group SNA? How to join the SNA group is still pending.

That's all for now. There's quite a bit of speculation on if this is in-game or not. I'm just gonna post the facts for now and we'll see where it leads and what deductions are made.

Cheers,
equi

Re: SNA/Eastermole puzzle?

Here's some info as I posted it on the yahoo group Joeys Pizza. Please note that the numerical passages were not wrapped. However carriage returns are the same as they were in the orginal post. It is now assumed by players that the ID Eastermole equals the Yahoo ID wdg3d.

*******

This post was made today (9/10/03) on the Alias Online Adventure board over at ABC. It was labeled as a test post topic "One more time". The author was EasterMole. That author has only posted 4 test posts with similar content at just about the same time. This was the last post. Anyone
make heads or tails of it? Or maybe I'm just looking for
things... Smile Anyhow, I did notice a pattern in the large "chunks" of
repetive numbers at the top and bottom of the message. At first
glance it looks as if the number series 1234567890 is just repeating,
but on closer inspection, there are "errors"; namely many repetitive
1's where 0's should have been and then some repetitive 2's and a few
numbers missing. In both "chunks" of sequences (the top and bottom
large sections) the "errors" begin on the 24th set.

I haven't yet looked at the middle sequences.
