Well Microsquish seems to have a different concept of "launch" and "time" than everyone else in the world. They did announce they would "launch" in Japan, North America and Europe at the same "time". However it has since been revealed that their idea of "launch" games are any games released within the first three months of the life of the console. Personally I always thought "launch" meant on the shelves the same day and hour as the consoles. There is also much speculation that North America (and possibly Europe) will launch in November before the US Thanksgiving shopping bonanza. Japan will most likely get a launch in December because Christmas just isn't that important over here. New Year's is when all the craziness happens. However as I said if we get it first.... Mr. Green

Why not Halo 3?

I think the mounting evidence points more into a Halo 3 related announcement than a store opening. Why the Latin if it's just to announce a store opening? The similarities to the Halo universe seem more to me than just conincidences. Plus, the fact they've most likely been working on Halo 3 for quite some time now (according to Steve Balmer http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/exec/steve/2003/10-21office-launch.mspx).

"Elyssium fields" = Store in Tokyo, for everything XBox related
"angels of Origen" = I know it's a different spelling and meaning, but it could mean you get to meet the creators of the XBox 360 on launch day??

Maybe the latin is just a more profound way to say "come to the store on September 27th (I think that's when it counts down to, right?) and try the XBox360 and meet the guys/gals who created this wonderful piece of machinery"?

The location we have seen pictures of with the 360 mark here in Tokyo will not be built by the 27th let alone open for business. That doesn't mean they could open a store elsewhere though.

Well I finally went and checked out that building site here in Tokyo and here is what I found out...

1) There is no way this place will be ready to open on the 27th. They haven't even dug the hole in the ground for the foundation yet. The sign on the side of the worksite says construction is expected to run from August 17th to October 31st.

2) That wierd squiggly mark has since been covered over with white paint. My guess that it was artistic graffiti was on the mark.

3) The managers of this building are listed as コードファイブ (Code 5). Code 5 is a publicly traded company that does event productions and marketing. They created the mascots for the Aichi Prefecture World Expo (on now) and have worked with online game site events and Xbox promotions in the past. They do not seem to have a website but I did find out they are currently hiring staff for "account director" and "events director" positions. Two job openings wouldn't be remarkable except that the company currently only has 8 staff. Percentage wise that is pretty big growth. The new staff were to be chosen by Sept. 12th.

4) The blueprints for this plan (they are posted in a no-public allowed area but there weren't any workers or security people around so.... Rolling Eyes ) indicate a pretty involved place. They have a full blown restaurant/cafe inside along with lots of display space, a garden plaza (smallish) and a couple of patios. The building will be two or three stories tall but the floorplan only showed one floor so my guess is it will have really high open ceilings and lots of windows.

5) With construction ending October 31st I would expect it to open to the public in Mid-November. Pretty spot on timing eh?

I don't have a clue as to whether or not this is related to Origen (probably not) but it has appeared in this thread so I thought I might share the info. BTW that satellite photo with the GPS coordinates is not the same as this place. satellite pic

I don't know anymore.
I'm still not discounting it, but it is moving a bit too slow to really capture an audience. I'm even beginning to lose interest...

But as always, Let's just see what tomorrow brings.

Same here Incitatus, I know I don't post much on here, but I try and read thru all the new posts, most of which are wild spec. I seriously doubt there's a puzzle here, it's just Microsoft's way of keeping us hooked... I mean, look what happened last week when we got the latin update too early... typical Microsoft Razz

Anywho, let's see what happens...

just listening to Major Nelson's blogcast...

www.majornelson.com

...for those who don't know, he is works at MS and is the Xbox Live Director of Programming. anyways, he was talking about upcoming events and one caught my ear. Xbox.com will be updating soon [probably changing over to xbox360]. this is the only event i can think of that would be mentioning and that isn't public yet for the 360. he also said "can't tell you the date of when the new version [of xbox.com] will be available..." why would MS hold a release date of a website secretly? hmmm.

maybe once the site goes up, the ARG will be held within xbox.com website.

just another idea and maybe another site to watch. other then that, i have no idea what else MS could be using as a surprise, most [if not all] 360 info is public.

I hope this isn't just another Halo, but for now, this is all I've got:

Elysium -> Champs Elysees followed by L'Arc de Triomphe > The Arc, the place where the Halo rings are activated. They were going to destroy the arc, therefore going back to John's origen/origin.

I was reading through this thread and saw this image of a Magritte painting that someone had posted:

"Alice In Wonderland"

I also saw that someone previously posted that a friend of theirs thought they saw something (the flood from halo or some character) in the lower part of the tree trunk

In studying the lower part of the tree trunk image myself, I think there are 2 figures in the tree, a person and a creature of some sort. I put together these images to try to illustrate what I think I see. The image has been softened and the figures emphasized by being in color with the rest of the image in black and white. One image shows the head of a creature with pointed ears, jutting brow and open mouth. The other image shows a person from mid-chest up, their face turned toward their left shoulder, which is hunched up towards their face.

Yyz, it took me a while to see it too, but your illustration really helps. This led me down the path of looking for more faces hidden in the image and I believe I have found another.

This one is in more of an anime format and as always I have provided a reference here to help illustrate the location in the image (the two apples farthest on the left).
