I'm not entirely convinced that this guy isn't an ARGjacker. I haven't seen any reason yet to believe he's real. Hopefully, we'll get a sign one way or another.

Sorry, we tend to through a lot of jargon around at times.
PM = Puppet Master
Meta = discussion of what happens behind the scenes
Curtain = That boundry between what we see as players vs what happens in secret

Are ARGs always like this? I'm meant to be going to bed and instead i'm reading sleepinggiantfoundation.com which seems to be total nonsense. And yes i think i am meant to call islington tomorrow but since i don't know his number and i'm out all day this will be tricky. i have left my answer phone on though. i have nasty feeling he has my number so we'll see what happens.

Actually, most ARGs are not this chaotic. What you're witnessing now, while not an isolated event, is not the norm either. Unfortunately, the number of games that have "imploded" or caved in under their own weight has been increasing, but normally they have been very small games that do not have a large audience (or the majority of the audience is familiar with the concept of ARGs to begin with). It is quite unforunate that you've had to experience this (and I'm not saying it has competely melted down yet, but no veteran of the genre would say it's gone well).

All I can say is: Have hope that maybe something will be salvaged, and if it's not, try to understand just how cool this can be if done properly. We have several other games in various stages at the moment that are better put together and have some actual experience behind them. If this game does die, I hope that some of you from lazylaces will stick around and give us another shot.

this is my first ARG as well. So much excitement! thank goodness it's the weekend. I'm a teenager, so I'd have school to worry about if it was a week day!

The subject line was RE: contact information from your website... which isn't what I wrote.
On the other hand, I didn't send the email directly... i sent it under the "contact" section of vibration thirteen. I recieved this shortly before Islington's emails started coming from Toby (sorry it took so long to post it) so maybe I started a chain reaction.
Also, I've been noticing some strange references to ARGs. Mindcandy, Perplexcity, and one other that I can't remember right now.

Nadif: saw the asploding going on, and trust me its going on here too, only 1000 times more than Synagoga and with very little logic behind it.

So here's a picture of a kitten. Syn would be proud.

It would be excessive, geeky and radically insane.
Which, under the circumstances, means "disturbingly likely".

In this case don't worry, we'll find a way to get there and properly flog you. Laughing

The "personalized pages" thing itself, we talked about it yesterday on lazylaces, kinda reminds Synagoga.
But at the moment I'm pretty much betting on just an information overcharge. Not so nice, really.

Well, I still doubt that a collective brain-explosion of the magnitude we reached with The Syn/WI Merge may be achieved ever again.
And if/when it happens, I WANT to be there.

Quite right. This really is more of a slow motion brainmelt.

Yeah. Feels kinda like a bad cognac hangover, if you ask me.

I got emails with mismatched IP's as well. I just have the feeling that we are looking at a valid ARG that had some both unfortunate/innocent and nefarious circumstances thrust upon it. Little stuff like the overall quality of the initial set-up and the first half day of clues. "<Meta>" for example... The person that made that graphis is obviously not the one(s) we've been hearing from most recently.
I'll totally believe Toby is Islington when he sends me an email having the same general header info as those I feel I got from I.
I was gonna say, if you're "I" then hack my scribe page, but that's probably all too possible.
I'll hang a while longer.

Laughing I didn't feel like tiptoeing around it, I just went straight to the point.

Gonna write I and see if he leads me anywhere. Bad idea, good idea? I don't wanna seem like I'm milking for info.

One of the primary guidelines of all this is to stay in character.
In other words, "I" doesn't know anything you've done in UF (or LL).
See if there is still need of your assistance as you haven't heard back, etc.
