Which is why I don't play. Hee. I watch! And sometimes add commentary. I'll only play if I feel I know what I am doing/getting into. Heh.
just having issues irl lately and tend to ramble and i don't think i'm adding anything constructive O.O

I'm still new to ARGS myself and only have been following them hardcore for about 2 weeks and when I saw this one going all crazy I decided to step out and watch. I'm still a newb so if any of the vets wanna jump in and correct please feel free.

I've been following it pretty closely and this is what I came up with. What "I" seemed to do more then anything else is bring alot of people together from many differant communities. Introduced us to idea we never though about, books, sites, time travel among many more. There were times he seemed to plug certain things shamelessy but I at times tend to lean twords it's about exploration and learning about new things. And "I" if this was your intention I give you mad credit. You were able to make your ideas and "game" explode with your unconventional tactics.

It's also possible that even though everything seems to make no sense and he seems to be breaking outta of his character is all part of it Smile. Or it's even possible it's all real Smile.

It would just be a shame if all new commers to ARGs are turned off to all ARGs in general for a exteremly strange, crazy, yet very unique and at times genius path that he lead you on, ends up turning you off. I really suggest if you got into this or found it a wee bit interesting at any point you really should check out the rest of the UNFICTION community and other ARGS going on. It's a task at first to catch up whats going on but this community seemed to set up sites, posts, guide and anything else they can think of to help YOU. There is a great group of people here!!!

In general the pacing of ARGs tend to be a little bit slower and not so frantic but I hear that when they get rolling tend to get intense but usally if it's well written the stories tend to unfold with a little more perpose then you may have experienced here.

I know I know I sound like a commercial but this is honestly how I feel Smile

Okay, I apologize in advance if this may sound like an insomniac's sleep deprived revelation I had a thought, so just stay with me here for a sec.

Graeme's scribe page:
Quote:
Don't be confused by the overwhelming urge to identify every detail as significant.
Filter - don't be taken in.

And it has the link in the pic to the gibberish page.

The majority of the stuff we're getting now, well, looks a lot like gibberish.
Maybe that had been an attempt to forewarn us of what to expect.

Okay, maybe I'm desperately trying to cling to a dying storyline....or maybe its my lack of sleep, but right now, that sounds coherent to me.

I'm holding out hope that the emailed and PM'd gibberish and apparent drunkenness is not the work of the original PM(s), if there are/were any to begin with.
I hope I'm not alone in saying that wading through that kind of crap is not in the spirit of what goes on in a typical ARG. Sure the text can be obfuscated, but intelligently and with some hope of divination.
In my short time on these boards, I've found the practice of "stegging" to be my biggest personal peeve, but this innane stuff would certainly be worse.
If the PM SixSidedSquare got were real, wouldn't this whole thing be over, anyway because "I" can't make their presence known here?

Well Rogi,
In theory, yes. But have they followed protocol before? They got around the no PM posting trailhead thingy if in fact, Vibration13 is one of the PMs.

So now what?

Allright, spending way too much time on this anyway, so might as well try and get involved.

So far the site is down. This could be because of the collapse of the game, or the fact that the Pm has enough players (due to the traffic the game has caused on both LL and this forum, I think we have enough players) and doesn't feel like getting more e-mails. Anyway, I always enjoy rummaging through parent directories, so I can live with it.

So, no new people can opt in as scribes. For now. Bugger.

Also the information given to us is getting more and more unintelligible. What if our friend Islington "Blinked" again? The description of his time jumps remind me of the pints that had to be drunk by Arthur in order to jump unto the Vorgon spaceship in HHG2G.

Personally, I think we need to sit out his drunkeness for a day or so. Hopefully new scribes will be needed after that, can't wait to join!

Off exploring the parent directory, lots of fun to be had in the folders secure and preivat Smile

Coen

This isnt dead yet, more changes to the site.
Looks like the index has been tided up a bit. There are some interesting things in the /secure/ folder now and more importantly, we have a folder access to the /scribes/ and theres a new scribe: cenyon. Anyone know him/her?
The page isn't really a page, just the folder, but you can open the flash file and it has a few things.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It uses a moon phases font, the top bit that you can highlight translates to 'TJ's' and the stuff in the background I translated by comparison, works out to be 'judge yourself'

Also the 13 on the second to last moon thingie (a 'l' if it matters) links here a file Sophie.MP%A3 which is part of an old thing from the vibration13 site if you change the mp%a3 to mp3 (maybe some relevance to 'mp a3')

Bottom left Rowan pointed out to me as psuedo saudi "kurdt 4 court knee"

hmmmm... 'TJ' ' and 'judge yourself' might be my Scribe page maybe?? I think I'm just hoping, I dont see the relevance of cenyon.

Who knows anymore. But I'm done screwing around with it. I've never enjoyed being screwed around with by PMs and 24 hours or so is enough for me.

I will still be watching these boards a bit and I'll be in #13books if anyone has any questions or what not. I urge the PM to seriously think about how much he's pushing his players away with his current state of game play and to fix it instead of just moving stuff around.

I also again urge all the new people from lazylaces not to be put off by this one game. It is not the norm of what an ARG can and should be. Remember that joy of feeling "wow, this is so cool" when you first stumbled upon this. That feeling can be had through an entire game. You just need to find the right one.

Right now, I know of 3 games that are currently running (forgive me if I accidently leave one out)
1. Perplex City - Huge community. Lots of posts/spec/commentary. Cash reward if you find the missing cube. If you like jumping into the deep end without a safety vest, this might be for you.

2. Orbitial Colony - Grassroots game created by several members of UF as a PM Training Ground. Is currently in the earliest stages of the game. Once this actually gets into full swing, should be very good. I know who some of the people are behind this, and they are not the type to just flake on us. Good for those who only ever bet on the sure thing.

3. VaporLofts - Unknown grassroots game that first showed up several months ago. Has been building a backstory for a while. While I don't know much about who is behind it, I can say that they have patience and the ability to keep the curtain closed when people start poking at it with META comments - two very important characteristics IMHO. Also just starting up. Good for those who are willing to take a little more chance but also want to get in on the ground floor.

Yeah, it seemed do well-thought out...but it just frayed.

I've never done one of these, and the only reason I got caught up was because of Lazylaces.

It was fun while it lasted, guys!

Perhaps she's 'blinking'?

Also note: almost all of the site has been removed when you look at TriskaBiblios. No extraduction, no poem... nearly nothing.

Thought I'd pop in and mention something.[/url]
