I think we should prolly be concentrating on that weird sound thing, to be honest, as that's what Anne mentions in her latest entry.

 		The first picture of a flower in the "personal" folder in the index is the same type of yellow flower in vaporloft's wikipedia logo. Screenshot
They both seem to be yellow daisies. A very happy color for a very happy flower.


The first poem that was found was about angels, the title of it being "The Flowers of Evil"

Just thought I'd share.

edit: I looked at the poems more. Some of the translations say angels, but one says "spirit" Maybe the word that was translated means something like a spirit or ghost, like the one found in the video?

another edit: Spirit of happiness, hast thou heard tell of woe? (Happiness, like the happy daisies)
Hast thou heard tell of anguish, and remorse, and care —
Of those long nights when in the black fist of Despair (Anne's nightmares?)
The heart is crumpled up like paper? Dost thou know, (Anne found the GPS points on a crumpled paper)

Initially looking at the technobabble at http://vaporlofts.com/gateway/5193.html, paragraph ii gives us a scientific, biological theory explaining of Near Death Experiences (NDE's). Pragraph i presents a similar explanation of what could be possession; grafting a spiritual entity onto/into a human being and the reactions that follow.

If I may mak a leap of logic; Vaporlofts is creating a self-replicating disease wherein some form of spiritual or supernatural entity asserts itself into the living. Which reminds me of something in one of Point_System's livejournal, http://www.livejournal.com/users/point_system/5793.html, about nightmares she was having that sound very similar to my theory.

Last night was the second night in a row that I've had dreams about the end of the world. The first time, it was some sort of disguised alien invasion, and last night it was some sort of viral invasion that turned people into zombie-demons. If I'd been watching bad horror movies before bed anytime recently, I'd suspect that my sometimes overactive imagination was getting the best of me, but I haven't... and it isn't.

It's not like me to have dreams, especially ones that seem so real, the kind where you wake up and wonder where you're at and what's going on. That hasn't happened to me since I was a kid.

Last night, before I fell asleep, I was realised that I had stopped breathing, and my lungs were burning when I finally (forcefully) inhaled. Tonight, as I prepare for bed, I wonder if I'll have the dreams again.


And we already have lots of clues pointing us to the plane crash and Meghin Svensenki/Sarah Belton's miraculous survival and amnesiatic/schizophrenic condition, which sounds a lot like the symptoms of the grafting detailed above.

Any ideas on the babble in paragraph iii? It trails off so randomly.

EDIT

The links to the floorplans on all 3 levels on th vaporloft site have all been removed and replaced with a link to a removed message, http://vaporlofts.com/removed.html. I didn't find anythig hidden in the html, either. Neat, huh?

 		maybe they are luring in these female designers with nice-paying contracts to do experiments on them? both anne and meghin seem to be pretty much alone in the world, with the exception of jenna, so they wouldn't be missed by many people if something went wrong?

Hold on...5793? The page linked at excerpt #2 is 5193, the number in floorplan1 is 5493.
The second digit is in steps of 3 here, that can't be coincidence. Just wondering, because those numbers are put inside the URL by the livejournal software, aren't they?
I still don't believe it's coincidence. Anne probably saw that number in the LJ URL and designed those pages at VaporLofts so that it fits.

That would be a rockin theory. But yeah, those permanent link numbers are assigned independantly of the user by the livejournal maintenance. Still, good eye. Wink

It is camouflaged, but for some reason I can't get the password I have to work.

There is a really easy way to see if something has been camo'd. Open it up in notepad, and scroll to the bottom. If you see a bunch of white space, then gibberish, then more white space, then gibberish - it's camo'd. (It's the way the program encrypts the data that does that).

There is a camo password cracking tool you can get in the Tools Forum here on UF. The password I got when I ran it was 080586 but I cannot get that to work with the file. (Normally, when you run the cracker on an unpassword/uncamoed file you get gibberish). I'll keep trying to see if I'm just doing something wrong.


Okay, it turns out I must have had a bad copy of the picture. Six got the password to work, so I redownloaded it and had no problems.

This text from the page is used:

The return of the wikipedia usage got me thinking, and I found that light yellow text on the generator picture. A reference we've already had from the rest of the text on that picture, the wiki page on Japanese Yokai. Quite interesting reading really Smile

Now that the pages have been removed you can't see it, but 080586.htm is the page with floorplan1...this whole number-thing is a tad random, I think.

Remember that Anne saw a fairy when she was a child? Sounds like it could have been a Tikoloshe or something similar, after all. Although I must admit, I read anything but "Tikoloshe" up there. Smile
I can't find an "I"...looks more like an "O"...I wonder if you heard about before and associated it or did you really read it and looked it up?

and if you flip it horizontally, and roate 180 degrees, under south africa in the now top right hand corner, it says "The myth is well known and feared"

edit: In the wikipedia artical about tolokoshe: "The Tokoloshe myth is well known and feared in most southern African countries. Many people lift their beds higher off the ground so that the Tokoloshe cannot reach them. Some people are afraid to mention its name."

4th point: "04. Johannesburg Int. Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa"

also from the wikipedia: " In Zimbabwe, UFOs are allegedly so common that local people have an indigenous word for them, ruserwa. One of the UFOs is said to have landed, and a small being with long black hair and large eyes emerged. The being satisfied many descriptions of the Tokoloshe, and some pupils took it to be one, and fled for their lives"

"Flowers of Evil" is not the title of one poem, but the name of a collection of poems by Charles Baudelaire. Both poems we've seen so far have come from this collection.

According to http://fleursdumal.org:

The first poem in the collection that is under the header "Flowers of Evil" is called "Destruction". The title reminded me of Anne's dream and drew my attention.

Going to his LiveJournal shows an utter lack of posts, an account created two days before Annie's, and a lot of interesting "interests," including Beaudelaire, Unexplainable Phenomenon, and EVP.

Is the game world expanding? This would be the third in-game LiveJournal related to this ARG that has popped up (Annie's, Djingo_labbat, and now this). Is this the guy who posted the thing in Craigslist?

Anyway, somebody probably already noticed, but I wanted to contribute something 'cause it sounds like fun.
