This business isn't all cake and happy thoughts. Sure, it looks good on television, it looks good in your comic books... but in reality, it's far from glorious and romantic.
The amount of deaths that this crisis has caused is well over the 1,000 mark, and is being looked upon as one of the largest disasters in our world yet.
This world, this life, this place... it disgusts me... The only solace I have is my gambling, and far be it from them to take that away from me. My revenge will be sweet.
The probability that an echo will actually happen is so stupidly high that I should doubt that any of our information will be recurring somewhere else anytime soon.
This is so cliche... I know it is, but I just can't help it. I have to say it. I just have the oddest feeling that we are being watched... shouldn't we do something about that?
I swear to god, I'm waiting for the price drop on that damn Xbox 360... and no.. I don't care what new viral marketing scheme they come up with for it. I'm seriously not touching that Origin game, whatever the hell it is.
Another day... great... This is just another opportunity for me to royally screw up my entire life for another extended period of time. Yes, I'm pessimistic. Get over it.
So let's suppose something about us did get into another dimension... Let's suppose an echo does occur... what would that mean to us? Could it harm us?
Look, I am a human! I don't care what you think about me, I don't care what you think I am. As long as I think like one and interpret situations like one, then I am one. ALL RIGHT?
We are entering a new corporate age! An age, doctor, where we can get away with this crazy shit. An age, where no one cares about ethics, so let's do this because we can.
Another game? Another cruel game that makes me solve puzzles and get nowhere? Bah. Forget this.
If this had been the only reason the PM gave, I would have gladly accepted it and would have sent warm fuzzy thoughts that the next outing by the PM wouldn't have such bad luck. Too bad he next tries to blame the ARG community for his lack of success.
I tried translating that myself but got bored, so cheers! The flowers in the pic I posted before seem like they're arranged deliberately, or maybe that's just me, I'm not sure.Also, has anyone deciphered the text on the third floorplan?
Just about any ARG can be followed from anywhere, and just because you may not get a phonecall is not a good enough reason not to play along. You may be pleasantly surprised. Hope that helps.

How did you see that? And on a similar note, where is the rose supposed to be in the compass image?

Forgive me if my questions are annoying, but this is my first foray into the ARG world, and I'm not as adept at seeing hidden images as the veterans.

If you look at the source of the page (view source) You will see a line that reads:

That tells you the location of the background image used in the page.

Don't worry, I like questions.

To see all the text in the malice.htm page, look at the source code of the page. To do this in Firefox, just go to View- Source. To do this in IE... I dunno, haven't used it in long time now and don't have it on my comp, but it should be about the same. You can probably get a less confusing answer outta somebody else.

And if I understand the 'rose' thing correctly, then the image on the '404' pages is a Rose Compass. A popular compass image that has been used for many many years. So a logical leap brings us there.

Don't be afraid to ask questions man.

Thanks Marrec, surferstick. I appreciate your help. I imagine that as this game progresses, I'll be asking a lot more questions. These types of games are quite difficult - the clues are vague, you don't have a specific set of rules, and from what I've gathered, coming in late can ruin your chances at solving it. That's why I decided to jump on this game early.

For the record, I had no idea that the compass image used was referred to as a "Rose" compass. You learn something new every day.

it's not a "Rose" compass. It's a compass rose. Think back to basic geography Razz.

I can identify three quotes from Unf in the page, but haven't found anything on search yet. I don't think they are all from Unf however. I get the feeling that these 'Echoes' that they are talking about are coming from everywhere. Including here. And somehow ending up on this website.

Then again, for all I know the 'Echoes' mentioned are from another ARG on Unf. I haven't played a lot of the grassroots ARGs that have been popping up so I can't tell you. If indeed all of these quotes come from Unf... wow, third wall, meta... I mean, Unf is strickly OOG. And yet here we find it's in some twisted way, IG. Can anyone else identify any of the excerpts?
