It's about 8:40am here and I have a physics test to take. But I thought I'd take a moment to pop up a conversation I just had with everyone's best friend - Orkid! I've had her on my AIM list since she first started chatting at people, and I saw her pop up so I decided to have a little talk with her.

It's long, and most of it seems mundane - but maybe one of you will see something fun in it. I don't have the time to analyze it right now.

Instead of slapping the entire conversation on here and taking up ungodly amounts of space, I uploaded the .txt to yousendit.com so whoever wants can download it. It's a temporary fix, so if someone wants to host it then be my guest. If the bandwidth dies for the file and you can't get it from the link, let me know and I'll either upload it again or just send it to you via e-mail or private message - whichever you prefer.

Enjoy.

Edit:
Took the conversation down and linked it instead. The text was taking up entirely too much room; my conscience wouldn't let me leave it.

Hmm, the name Holly rings a bell - that may well have been the girl he left a key for in the Monkey cafe - though I could be misremembering. I intend to go to the Charity shop and the Monkey, but today I've been a little busy trying to get my washing machine fixed. With luck I'll have time to go later today, otherwise it'll have to be tomorrow.

I just received an e- mail from Islington. So it is NOT a hoax. Here it is in it's entirety:

you for your efforts

Dearest Girl of the Mountains
Your consitent striving to solve this cryptic bundle has been a joy to behold. May I take this oppurtunity to thank you profoundly. I would also like to apologise for the recent explosion of mis-tensed crryptographicly confused literature, but when I am passing through I have to act as quickly as possible, and sometimes it is not possible to double check the meaning. I am grateful to you and your friends for being so diligent, and am impressed that the literary references are not lost on you all. This gives me Hope.
Now that the moon is waning, my blinking will slow. I am now simply drifting... exhausted from the strain. I found myself in all places, all times. Very hard to digest, for a human brain. So... I'm just cooling down, but I will be making a public statement in the next few days. In the meantime, I notice the hostilities within the group of helpers sometimes clouds the events, and I ask that you be not so quick to anger when someone says what at first seems critical. You are a worthy person, and have no reason to feel slighted, but we are also all different, and some people cannot see what is to the other obvious. I am grateful that this group has massed to come to my aid, but it important to me that  we all conduct ourselves in as mindful, honourable and non-argumentative way as possible.
This said, would you do me the honour of accepting a Scribeship? Your efforts have been noted. I feel that to ask before the fact, in this occasion, would be most decent, though it is not always possible for me to be so considerate. Now that my state of flux is less rapid I am able to remember the differences between what has been promised to me in your Future and what you have already agreed to. So the offer stands.

Regards,
Islington

Yes, that was me. Everytime I've tried to check my messages or post, it tells me I'm not logged in even though I know I am. Maybe it wil work this time.

Hi G
I've been given the responsibility of ploughing through these
entusiastic emails, because Islington doesnt seem to be doing it and
he's routed his mail over to me.
The collaborative element of the puzzle is the most vital one. I
believe, from what Islington has said, that it is by our collective
will and creative endeavour that the future be found. The books play a
large part in that, but it is also the co-operative spirit of the
searcher.
Speaking personally, I am also Canadian (my mum is from Toronto),
but have yet to go there. I have a passport though.
I am hoping to bring this search into the international arena, as
from what Islington has said, the books themselves could be in any
country whatsoever. So I am grateful for your offer.

I will be in touch again.

A new index on the site
http://www.triskabiblios.com/
Quote:
The Search for The 13 books is the means by which the Present can match up with the Ideal Future, the one I have seen and experienced as being as Real and Possible as being Here Today is for you. It's worth working for.

The 13 books exist somewhere in Time and Space, to find them we will need to come together. Be as One in the search. The books themselves leak into the Conciousness of Man, all of Human Achievement from the beginning of writing to the end of Time is catalogued in books. It is up to us to understand the encrypted message underneath the characters and the plot devises. We can acheive an Idyllic world. You are learning how it is done.
I thank you for your help.

I received a reply to my message to Islington....the reply is from Toby----

Dear _____(he used my real name...would kinda ruin my Incog Neato ID to share it further!!),
Thanks for your eloquent reply. I've been given Islington's Inbox to try and deal with, there are thousands of helpful people out there that I am trying to reply to on his behalf.
Your literary tastes are good, and your particular choices, I am
sure, will shine a helpful light on this tricky conundrum. The 'game' will go beyond sharing reading lists, it is Important to Islington's success that which ever books are on his mystic list be read and sent on all over the world. When he explained it to me, he talked about this vortex principle - I will soon upload the logs of our conversation so it is more clear. Basicly, something about the movements of the books, passing through various academic and personal networks, being constantly re-read by co-operative people then sent on, this, he feels, will go some way to facilitating the End Results he so desperately requires.
So if you want to share any books you think would be beneficial in subject or style to the triskabiblios library, please find someone else who is actively playing, befriend them, and send them a copy. For the price of a charity shop book and a stamp you will be helping to decypher one of the most profound riddles of the TwentieFirst Century and help us link up with the Morrisian Future of Nowhere.
Anyway, thanks for being so diligent. I will keep in touch as and when I can. Please explain to the others what I've told you, since I'm quite tired and will go get some sleep.

PS Your ID rules. hehehe Incog Neato! *yay*

Per his request I am sharing 'what he has told me' here. I have also posted it on the Lazylaces thread.

As far as sharing a book.....I guess you will hear about it when I do. Wink

Curiouser and curiouser.....

For what it is worth....

William Morris' News From Nowhere (written 1890) is credited with being one of the greatest influences on H.G. Well's Time Machine.

Perhaps another entry in the Triskabiblios Bibliography?

www.withe.ne.jp/

found that link in the source of scribes/withe

didn't know if it was mentioned before.

it leads to a site that seems to be OOG, but what would i know. this has been quite weird up to now.

it also says 'give him a ring' on that page, and the only thing coincidentally that i can read on withe.ne.jp is a phone number. i can't ring it though.

edit: also.. the date on this page doesn't exist. (friday 13th february 2013). the only two friday 13ths in 2013 are in september and december.

my $0.02
