OK, I may have found something ... Idea

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I worked a bit with the brightness and contrast on the cap1 photo, and thought I saw some letters. I rotated it back into it's original upside-down position, and found the following letters: LBX ... not sure what that means, but check it out...

I think that might be just water runoff. Look at the image in the right-side-up orientation, and there's similar marking on the wall above it, where it would run down the wall, onto the ledge, and then down where you've marked. Might just be a Virgin Mary illusion.

@rowan
Well, now I see it's quite easy. Thanks for the lesson! Wink
Regarding passwords, I'd suggest something different than 080586 for other pics. Not sure if there was a hint towards which password must be used or if it was intended to be brute-forced. It's hard to analyse the context now that the pages have been (temporarily?) removed. Unless you actually search the forum, which I might do some time later.

@dtg
I can't play around with the pic just now, but there are 8 letters pointing at various places within the picture and they look like a-h to me...
Perhaps the according legend for this is found later on.

There's a new link in the gateway directory. This leads HERE, which partially explains the four new images.

[EDIT]: Notice this passage

Now i just noticed the wiki has been removed. But i found this in the source
Code:
<!-- Page REMOVED (AUTHENTICATION CODE: "aiprs") -->
I'm not sure what that means right now.

in the image directory can someone explain the sa2b.jpg photo. In the directory it shows that its 102k, but when you save the picture it saves as a .bmp with a size of 58k.

probably a stupid question but im curious.

diffrent extensions have diffrent filesizes even with the same picture sometimes though i thought the .bmp was usually bigger.

yeah i understand that .bmp are usually a larger filesize than most other extensions, but what i dont understand is why when you save the file (sa2b.JPG) does it want to save as a .bmp.

add1.html

I checked the source code on the add1.html page and found this.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The ALT text for the four images, in order, reads:
CAPTURE
RETAIN
ANALYZE
INCORPORATE

Maybe nothing, but definitely placed there with some purpose, as a reference for VL employees perhaps?

Also, the image descriptions seem to show some significance in the date July 7 2005. There is an entry on that date in the point_system livejournal which seems to have some significance as well, Anne perhaps experiencing some sensations due to the events of that evening, captured in sa2a.jpg. (Also - her entry is 5793.html - which I think was discussed in the big thread as being possibly significant.)

Lemme guess, you're using IE?

It's a known problem with IE, mostly to do with your cache being full. I had a lot of problems with it during ILB, when I couldn't download corrupted pictures as jpg/gif (and Firefox wouldn't display them at all). If clearing your cache doesn't fix the problem (at least temporarily), try downloading the pictures directly (you can always write a temp webpage so you can do a save-as from a link) or use Firefox and get the pictures that way.
