(Another) Card Manager program Wouldn't you know it - you wait ages for a card manager program, and two come along at once
I've finally finished the first version of my card manager. It's a Windows application that lets you keep a record of the cards, your solutions, additional images, trades in progress etc. I *hope* it's different enough from Sasuntsi Davit's program that people will at least give it a try.

If you come up against any problems, or have questions or comments about the program, please don't hesitate to get in touch (post here, email, pm). It's very much a first release, so if you hit any bugs or if you can't find any of the options (try right-clicking!), please let me know.
I've included some images of the first three cards in the release, as examples of what you can do. Obviously, the app will let you replace them with your own better quality images.
So, have fun, and happy carding!

Yeah, pretty kool.

Nice!
One small request - it would be nice to be able to put carriage-returns into the solutions box. When I hit return the program takes that as a close command.
Cheers!

A cuople of suggestions.
I keep thinking there should be a 'cards I own' tab...
Could the program total up the points for cards where we've entered a solution? (Obvioulsy that assumes our solves are correct - but I think it wuold be nice!!)

Yes - I agree. I was going to hang on until the official leaderboard was up and running (to see if there was any way of tying the two together), but I don't think it would be too tough to tot up the scores locally before then (although working out whether the whole group has been solved could be a little interesting ...)
Do you have any thoughts on where the points total could be displayed?

I've added a 'cards I own' tab and uploaded a new version.
I'm still pondering the 'points total' thing (not whether to implement it, but how ).
btw - are there any bits that aren't obvious how to use? I wasn't sure whether the whole trading thing was very clear ...

Due to a stoopid mistake on my part, the previous versions of the app wouldn't let you upgrade, and a clean install blatted the database file (so your card data was lost).
I've made a change, and the current version on the site (and all subsequent versions) will now correctly let you upgrade while maintaining your data.
There's some instructions in the readme on what you need to do when upgrading this first time only - after that point and onwards it should be a simple case of downloading and running the installer to get the latest version.
Update - have moved the db file to %COMMONPROGRAMFILES% rather than %WINDIR%
Apologies for any inconvenience.
Great to see you're using it Juxta - please let me know of any comments/suggestions.
cheers

Interesting issue: When I expand the window, the "Current points total" text does not expand with the window. It stays where it originally was and is on top of other text.
Other than that, LOVE the app!

QuadsChick : whoops - entirely my fault. I've just uploaded a fixed version (1.3.5).
That'll teach me for releasing a new version at 1am!
lauriek : the app now shows your points total - thanks for the suggestion.

Right - version 1.4.0 is now out, which lets you update your perplexcitytrades.com profile directly from the app (accessible from File->Card trading->Update perplexcitytrades.com profile). Thanks again to skenmy for his help.
I've included a little note in the readme - it's pretty difficult to test all the different configurations/network problems that people might encounter, so it would be very useful if anyone who is using the update option contact me (email, pm etc) to let me know how they're getting on (working or not).
I'm getting a little conscious that I'm replying to my own post rather a lot here - is that acceptable behaviour on these forums? If not, does anyone have any good ideas as to how I can keep people informed of updates?
And again - any suggestions/comments gratefully received.
cheers

Considering the nature of this thread, I think you're probably all right replying to yourself here.
