[False Alarm] ILoveBees.com - active again?

I searched and didn't see this anywhere else. Am prepared to be massively beaten if I'm wrong.

ilovebees.com has gotten weird.... again.

I want to make sure this wasn't only me before posting, so brought it up in a console gaming thread (http://tinyurl.com/cj8d2).

Thebruce, dasro_kast and I all see a 403 error at www.ilovebees.com (and any address on the domain) with a couple oddities that make us think it isn't just real server trouble:

First, it doesn't look like a standard 403 error. Second, the Y on 'you' is missing in the text, and replaced with a - in the title bar. There's also a "noindex, nofollow" tag in the source.

Any thoughts and/or further insights?

Awwwwfully coincidental, eh? Wink Most definitely not a standard error page...I can't really make anything of it, though. What could the missing Y's mean...

*makes obvious joke in his head about missing "whys". Tells self to get some sleep Wink.

I've tried various incarnations of 'y' and 'why' in the url as a folder, link (htm html asp) and subdomain, and everything (I mean everything) is giving this '403' error... yes 403 is a valid error, but it's the style of the error page that is suspicious.

Basically *.ilovebees.com/* is giving that 403 error...

and that means what? I know 404 is a missing page, or page does not exist. Since ILB was such a dynamically-generated site, I imagine that if they pulled the plug on the underlying database, the html will no longer work correctly or without errors. (and rather than send everyone off to search for themselves, it would be handy to put the meaning of the 403 error here)

I don't believe it's a genuine 403 error... for one, that's not a standard 03 error page, especially if ilovebees.com is running off the latest Windows server (as we know the .net error pages we received frequently during the arg, and the 404 pages before it was 'hacked')... that page is based off the most simple, standard 403 error page among web servers...

Hold up... just googled for the error, and it found a link - get this - to a thread on unfiction from late August 2004, here talking about the very same error... including the missing 'y'

well, it seems this really is nothing.
*sigh* too bad, this would have been a good start to a continuation Smile

thebruce, you have to admit that it's a little strange that they would be doing something to the site after so long... Shocked

it is NOT normal yet!

The front page comes up but most of the images aren't loading.

And all of the links I try (MIA, Recruits) come up with the 403 error still.

I'm still getting the error when trying to access the main (front) page.

Edit: More details and less noobish....
Edit 2: Error 403 in Firefox

The "big black blobby" thing is the countdown box, and it is normal for ILB, believe it or not. Smile

Maybe they're changing servers or something?

I wouldn't read too much into this at this time. Keep an eye on it just to be safe but I doubt that we'll get anything out of it.
