Dood.
All those popups are a real pain in the bohonkus. When they're gone, I'll spend some time there. Sorry.

Uh, you need a password just to start it? Is this a hacking puzzle or a crypto puzzle? As of yet I don't even see any way to begin, unless we're supposed to guess passwords.

I tried to login, no luck. It appears there is no way to actually access it.

Popups and such About the popups - I'm sorry, it's the best free host I could find, If you know of any better I will move the site.
Also, I have beta tested this code about 5 times so i know everything works and that you can access the first START page, while in the INDEX page, just read in between the lines (thats the biggest hint I can give you)
It is a mix between hacking and crypto, mostly crypto - I dont consider it much hacking - no real bruteforce or anything

I Guess We Will Play Good Cop Bad Cop I will address a few different issues here.
First off get a popup blocker there are plenty of them and they are free...better yet get the google toolbar it blocks popups and supplies you with a great search engine right at the click of your cursor. Ill even as nice as to give you the URL: http://toolbar.google.com/
Next, I surely hope that you dont consider yourself a "cracker" or "decoder" because finding the first passphrase is as fundamental as it gets....like he said just read between the lines.
and Finally, Mos you were the most curteious so i will return you respectful manner unlike the other two impatient repliers. To login you must have the first passphrase it can be found by (once again) reading between the lines....thats as obvious as it gets.
Now get on with it its making me angry that noone has come close to cracking it.

Just want to point out that you guys came to unforums and we did not come to you. There is no need for the good cop/bad cop attitude. If you need players be nice in trying to find them and get over yourself. Deuce brought it here nicely and you have ruined the positiveness of that contact by attacking the members of this forum. Think that maybe the people of UF are busy with many other games going on to suddenly drop everything to solve your little puzzle, not likely. You are competing with games like Acheron, MetaCortex and many others and you will not win with that attitude. Do not insult your players! Ask for players do not demand them. You are an unknown and you must earn respect!

Fun! I'm a bit surprised no one has posted about solving the Start login yet.
Enough has been said to solve it easily so only look if you're desperate...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Highlighting the welcoming message reveals:
72 70 76 68 57 20 72 61 68 65 43
which, in hex ascii gives
rpvhW raheC or Cehar Whvpr backwards
then ROT-13
Prune Juice
The Message Board specifies all levels will yield a User/Pass both with starting capitals
(even when the code itself does not capitalise only the first letter, they were nice this time)
Start itself is a bit more peculiar...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
using the same method as the login (hex ascii, backwards, rot-13)
you get:
I tried mailing a picture of myself to a friend last night. So I went to the post office to ask how to do it. She told me to just put in one pretty good envelope and mail it. All night I went from store to store looking for one pretty good envelope. Good thing someone invented caffeine!
I checked the usual schemes, but have yet to solve it.

well well I think I should start out on a good note:
Finally, someone was able to get past the first part...good job
as for posting the exact method of solving it and what it yeilds..well I would have made different choice, but each to his own..keep working on it you will get it sooner or later
And onto the next, first off the good/bad cop was meant more as a joke than to be taken serious and I decided to be more direct in getting my point(s) across.I had absoloutley no intention of "attacking" anyone. As for everyone dropping thier games and solving our "little" puzzle, that would be stupid of me to think something like that. Why would I even try to compete with other games, I reap no benifit from people solving this puzzle, I do it to have fun. finally, Yes, I (we) may be unkown to the "people of UF" as you would say, but I do not need to earn the respect of anyone, unless I wish to.
Now, can we drop the irrelevant arguments and get to gaming?

...eek wow..I guess until now i really didnt understand how the "people of UF" helped each other. The statement i made about posting the method/answer now seems a little foolish after viewing other "UF" posts.
all in all ..heh my bad

cooperation I'll admit i pondered posting it or not, especially after reading the comments on the site's board...
It really comes down to keeping records more than wanting to gloat or telling everyone the answer.
Hence the spoiler space... i try to avoid reading them unless i'm really stuck... which turns out to be often.
In any case, thanks for the challenge...

You had to compete with a major new site coming out (metacortechs). I don't have time for another game, especialy if you are going to attack me on the board, even in jest.
Sorry.

Start page Justin_Case - very good job on the first part, not too difficult yet.
The answer in the Start page, as you would presume, is all in the little "story". Find words that stand out, ones that just don't seem to be in the right context and such.
Once you get it, you will slap yourself in the forehead, and as always please fell free to email either me or Jazr for help.

"Continue" Code For those of you who might be stuck on the "Continue" section of the code - I have added a quite useful hint. It is all up to you to figure out what the hint means - but once you get rolling it should be a lot easier then it was before...
