Beta Test from Metacortex

After applying for the beta, i got this back. Check out the name of the
X-Mailer ... spooooky!!!

AND

when you install the screensaver it tries to 'call out' somewhere ... zonealarm stopped it

I don't buy the screen saver calling home. I tried to reproduce that and was unable to capture any network traffic relating to the screen saver. Perhaps it's just requesting a channel to throw in some more mystery?

I would tend to agree with you. i uninstalled it and reinstalled it, each time it made Zonealarm pop up w/ activity on 127.0.0.1 only. after it was installed, though, and running, no activity at all out of the ordinary was reported.
