The replay is slow, but I'll add to this as I get the logs cleaned up...

Dealer: Hand #313050 will be replayed.
Quote:

thedealer: The Buyer?
Leftbrained: Yikes
ScarpeGrosse: Is he the buyer? I thought he was a friend of Clays
Phaedra: Do you know how Clay is doing?
Marrec: I've always wondered something
thedealer: Clay... the name suggests something to me.
thedealer: Nothing good.
marrec: Do you know why they call it Texas Hold'em?
thedealer: It was a joke, dear.
thedealer: Clay--what I am, now
thedealer: never mind
varin: Smile
krystyn: dust to dust
Phaedra: lol
ScarpeGrosse: Heh. Some call him the preacher.
addlepated: Ashes to ashes, clay to clay...
Phaedra: So, what's so special about an old gun, anyway?
thedealer: I find it much easier to track people here, than... back there
thedealer: Ah--the preacher.
thedealer: Always have to watch them
#313050: krystyn wins (530) with Straight, three to seven

thedealer: I always thought i would try being the drunk
thedealer: ver did get around to it.
addlepated: No booze where you're at, sounds like you are in a hot place.
Phaedra: Why the drunk?
thedealer: I have a calculating turn of mind.
thedealer: seful, but ... not restful.
Phaedra: We would never have guessed.
marrec: Never rest eh?
thedealer: Not while things are broken. Not while some things remain to be fixed.
varin: so what can we do to help you fix things?
Dealer: *** SHOWDOWN ***
Leftbrained shows One pair, sixes
Dealer: krystyn mucks
#313076: Leftbrained wins (245) with One pair, sixes

thedealer: ou see her better than I.
thedealer: The Colt?
missphinx: I see Lucy's put somre more of her story up.
Phaedra: I'm just wondering if there's a joker coming that's going to rebalance the playing field, so to spea
Phaedra: k?
ScarpeGrosse: The one you passed on to Lucy
thedealer: he colt I got a long time ago, back in my army days.
thedealer: Just after it killed a man.
ScarpeGrosse: Anyone we should know?
krystyn: a smoking gun. all yours.
varin: interesting way to put it
addlepated: The gun killed a man, with nobody there to pull the trigger?
thedealer: The shooter, or the dead man? Both men worth knowing, in their different ways.
ScarpeGrosse: Which one was Jerry?
thedealer: Neither. He was bawling his eyes out back at the Metropole at the time.
Phaedra: Well, at least your other son is alive and doing well, isn't he?
#313088: krystyn wins (1740) with Flush, nine high

Ok, I give up and will summarize (christ that replay thing is boring):

Chat chat chat yammer yammer yammer:

thedealer: saw a hanging
otherperson: with maurice?
thedealer: yes
thedealer: pikar

Which led to MauricePikar's profile/card on LCP.com and so the story continues (other cards discovered following)

Someone please ask about the US Marshall, named Rojas... That's the key to Mi Casa, and the Paco Cisneros (and likely Ruben) murders.

Anyone have any ideas on the specialized poker chips used in the private game?

Interesting. Judging by who is getting the invites, I think Lucky is defining the "top players" as those on top of the social list and not necessarily the chip leaders?

It's not a social board thing. I've just logged on to my PC to find the invite in my inbox, rather too late of course. So card hunters are getting called up as well.

These look identical to practice table chips [below], I guess thedealer just wanted a chat rather than a competitive game.

The missing first letters happen if you start typing too soon following hitting "Send" .. i've noticed this in my own typing and chatting while pokering.

I dont' think it's anything significant :/

This is most likely due to the poker client chat interface. When you type a line and hit enter, there's a couple second delay before it recognizes you typing again. So if you type two lines in quick succession, the first few characters of your second line get lost.

Anyone have any more?

Boy, that was fun. Very Happy And I generally don't even like chat interaction.

Because I've been trying to find how thedealer got on the subject of Maurice in the first place - and because I wanted to see what else thedealer said about Maurice, here are some poker chat bits that Ehsan posted in #lastcall:
Quote:
[15:02] <Ehsan> Phaedra: Have you ever seen a hanging, Lucky?
[15:02] <Ehsan> thedealer: Life and soul of my outfit
[15:02] <Ehsan> thedealer: A hanging? yes indeed?
[15:02] <Ehsan> thedealer: ll, no, not exactly.
[15:02] <Ehsan> thedealer: But a hanging is how I met an old old friend
[15:02] <Ehsan> thedealer: His POWs kept getting shot trying to escape.
[15:03] <Ehsan> thedealer: After the hanging, they made me his babysitter.
<someone asked whether this was Jerry>
[15:04] <Ehsan> thedealer: Ah, looks bad when your prisoners keep dying
[15:04] <Ehsan> thedealer: Not Jerry
[15:04] <Ehsan> thedealer: That's right.
[15:04] <Phaedra> IT'S MAURICE
[15:05] <Phaedra> Pikar

Thanks, Ehsan!

It's actually a simple matter to let the replay mode complete itself in another window while you go play some more poker. Once it's run its course, go ahead and Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C inside of the chat window, and then go to a simple word-processing/text file and Ctrl-V it.

I'd really *love* to see the whole transcript, because even though some of the chatter may have bored some of you, it was what really made the whole thing a lot more fun for me. I think there were some nice moments that were NOT all interrogation and bordering-on-meta fishing, and it'd be a shame to lose that to the ether, if those recorded hands get cleared from the memory banks.

Quote:

"(Be)tter late then never?" could be a clue to unlocking something with death date, or, just had another thought. Did anyone ask who was being hung?

I think the cut-off letters are just a glitch in the system. I've had that problem when typing messages too and have noticed it in transcripts of the Paco conversation too...

Yeah, I am 99.999999999% sure that thedealer has very quick ghostly typing fingers, and therefore did not wait for his cursor to reappear before continuing his thoughts. Smile
