[CHAR] Ballistics a list of guns and owners:
The Navy Colt: Antique gun, Brown family heirloom dating back to the Civil War, black powder caps and balls, currently in Clay Sizemore's (Preacher) possession. unknown if its in working condition
Clay Sizemore: semi-automatic bought at a pawn shop and dropped down a sewer
cemetery Gunman: cheap 9mm, bad condition, possibly Czech origin. 12 or 13 shot magazine
Lucy Brown: unknown gun hidden in cookie jar in kitchen
the Old Man's bodyguard: unknown gun, but he shoots left-handed
Ruben: killed by an unknown assailant with a 9mm (nine millimeter)
Paco Cisneros: killed by an unknown assailant (knicknamed Cigarette) with a USP 9mm (probably the same killer as Ruben, possibly same man as the cemetery Gunman)
Corazan Suarez: Glock (9mm?), used to defend Clay's convience store against Paco
If TV mysteries like CSI have taught me anything, this will be important later on.

Re: [SPEC] Ballistics http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/andadaughter/txt_youalwayswere/ states:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The gun itself had been one of those cheap 9 millimeter jobs you could get free with purchase of 10 gallons of gas anywhere in East L.A. Czech, maybe?
...
She tried to replay the gunfight in her head. 12-shot magazine, maybe? Thirteen?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The white guy pulled a USP 9mm from the waistband of his jeans and shot Paco in the back of the head.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"What was it?" Porky said. "A .22? Like the Sopranos ?" Porky loved that show.
...
"Nine mill."
According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HK_USP , USP guns are German. USP9 has 15 rounds, and USP Compact 9, has 13 rounds.
[SPEC] Perhaps Lucy made a mistake in guessing the national origin of the gun that she saw?

Ah, good old iStockphoto: I originally posted this in the the Card Advertisement thread, but it really belongs here. A few photos of bullets/shells. Scroll down to see key words for each image, and you can surf around the site to see photos of other bullets and firearms.

I had thought she was guessing the national origin of the shooter.

Could all these numbers add up to a poker hand we can replay?

Someone said in another thread that the bullets on the home page are .357.
They could be .357 magnum. However, .357 mag cartridges are straight-sided, and the ones on the front page are crimped. You can crimp the cartridge if you're a reloader (it helps with recoil) but this is very uncommon and as far as I know you can't buy them like that off the shelf.
The other calibers I listed (.32/20 or .45-70) come standard with a crimped cartridge.
That all being said, I think they're just window dressing.

Will you please find out what brand of cartridges they are? I searched high and low for a .357 mag which wasn't straight-sided and failed miserably. I wanna know what slipped past me. [ ]
Just so we're clear, your father's .357 mag bullets have the little notch halfway down on the brass, and they're not just a straight tube, right?

.357 vs .38 Just an observation unless you can see the head stamp on the bottom of the casing, it would be nearly impossible to tell the difference between a .357 and a .38 special round as they are nearly identical in length. In fact you can shot both a .38 spcl and .357 from a . 357, but not the other way around.

Just as a note, Navy Colts were .36 caliber.
