[Trail] [Complete] Yellow Brick Road

While waiting for some games to launch, I thought I'd provide a short diversion for those who need to have their puzzle fix satiated.
So I created a mini trail of ten puzzles of increasing difficulty.
It's mostly arts and sciences related.
There is a prize at the end for the first one to solve all ten levels.
It's my first attempt at this kind of thing, so expect a few twists.
Also a couple of the puzzles' clues are a little more obvious if you're using IE than if you're using Firefox. (Just differences in how the browsers display the content, but fully solvable with either).
Thanks to Soogees for hosting the trail.
The trail starts at:
http://www.soogees.com/yellowbrickroad/index.htm
Have fun!

EDIT:
Current Reported Status: 100% solved.
Total time: 4 months, 10 days.
Congratulations, grumpyboy.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you add the number to the letter (like, if it said A:25 you would go A=1+25=26=Z), you get: LMOTH CJWXM QGBBA PXRZ | DEVWV SZNLM KTCDE EVQG. Then, if you flip it around so that A=Z, B=Y, etc., you get ONLGS XQDCN JTYYZ KCIA | WVOTH CJWXM QGBBA PXRZ, which seems useless, until you notice that the first line of the first lot is identical to the second line of the second lot, except for the first two letters. I tried redoing them to see if I made a mistake, couldn't get it to fit. Hoping that is a mistake by a certain PM. Razz I'm thinking that, from here, I find a pattern in the numbers or something to find out what the next step is...

I've attached (EDIT3: unattached) the cypher I made so you can decode it yourselves if you want, see if I made a mistake. The easiest way is to type in an empty field =[letter]1+[number] then match it up to a letter up the top.

BTW, I added the spaces in the LMOTH CJWXM etc. myself, after every five letters just to make it easier on the eyes. I put the | in to distinguish between the two tables.

EDIT: I see where I made the mistake! I was decoding the wrong thing... Bang Head Feel free to hit me...

EDIT2: Now it says:
LMOTH CJWXM QGBBA PXRZ
DEVWV SZNLM KTCDE EVQG

ONLGS XQDCN JTYYZ KCIA
WVEDE HAMON PGXWV VEIT
which makes an awful lot less sense, which makes an awful lot more sense...

EDIT3: So now it's occurred to me that I've spent all that time working on it when that probably isn't how to solve it. Time I should've spent outside, playing games with my friends... but then I remembered, hey, I don't have any friends! And that hasn't gotten to me one step closer to realising what I have to do next, except now I know that ^^ THAT ^^ isn't. Process of elimination.

Tricky unless you view it the right way - trying putting it into WordPad and playing with margins. It is undeniably a genius.

zoom in on the image and you see some dots on the pyramid. It's Murray code and it translates to:

i am the son of ramesses , i am the father of ramesses ,

Seti I is the son of Ramesses I and the father of Ramesses II.

looks like a script or dialogue with only the first letter of each word show.

don't know why, but I figured that the "I s I d g a d!" near the end is "I said I don't give a damn!" then recogonized that the page is "Who's On First?" by Abbott and Costello

from this site: http://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/uncgi/Solar/

find the distances of all the planets from the Earth at 2000-01-01 00:00:00 UTC. adding all the distances together gives 100.464 AU

with 1 AU = 92,955,807 miles, you get 9338712194 miles
