I think we're well past B in terms of plans.

They wouldn't have a sound clue outside without something there to make the sound, and rose would have found it even if she didn't hear it. Can't say that I can see how the bands mentioned would help us at all. I've been messing around with the idea of the coordinates referring to something else, but I can't find a way to make them apply to other planets/stars. Wikipedia suggests that there are meridian lines on the moon and on mars, but sadly Google maps covers neither (unless I happen to have missed that mode).

EDIT: I have found a promising app for Mars (doesn't that always happen just after you post) that accepts martian longitude and latitude. It's still a long shot but ...

ANOTHER EDIT: Fun but useless - I can zoom all over Mars but it all looks pretty much the same, red. The coordinates don't appear to be anywhere with a name, but it only mentions a few select sites. It looks like it's on the edge of a ridge, but other than that, it's hard to tell it apart from the rest of mars.

<joking> Well, there is always http://moon.google.com/ </joking>. Be sure to zoom in to the maximum settings.

Now they just need to link that and google maps, and I can finally get directions from my house to the landing site of Apollo 11.

If anyone is good at recognising spots of interest on mars, you can look below, the black cross in the top right picture and the red dot in the top left picture are the location. I'll update what I said earlier - it is just inside a ravine. Still pointless, but that's the internet.

Well its a good thing there's nothing interesting at that location on Mars, otherwise I'd feel compelled to go check it out.

It only seems logical that I go; I'm the closest one to Mars. I think.

The Apple-Thief (December 11 - January 10)
Silences are melodies heard in retrospect.

This is my take on the futures. The Dice indicates that we already have all of the information that we need and that we should be working with what we have.

The Apple-Thief, though discussing melodies, suggested the memorial to me, no matter how unconventional that may be. A memorial is a solemn, silent place where one looks at an image in retrospect, or in memory. Perhaps the melodies refer to a song played in remembrance or for the victims of 9/11. It doesn't seem appropriate, but at this point, we don't have much else to go on.

The Receda Approach implied stars, while the Receda Sign implied power. I see nothing to suggest that either will be applicable at these coordinates. The fact that the memorial is close to the location and obelisk might relate to the lighthouse looking out to sea makes me feel that this is the correct place.

I used 911 as an extension yesterday - got through to something that sounded like the 'Schiffer Life Herbs Int. UK'.

I left a message, but they haven't got back to me. Sorry for keeping it quiet, but I thought I'd have some actual info before I posted. Have a go.

I don't know about the US but in the UK, a bugler plays "The Last Post" at memorials, could this be the melody we're looking for? Question

Had a go. 9 is not a valid extension number?

Anyways...no idea if this would have any bearing on it...but the final message is actually
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
------------Remember, Go quietly: North 40 degrees 35.745 West 73 degrees 30.539 North 40 degrees 35.745 West 73 degrees 30.539 North 40 degrees 35.745 West 73 degrees 30.539

i.e. the co-ords get repeated three times in total, repetition for the sake of the poor person trying to write it all down, or does it give us a different location?

Note: My geography skills are not in any way "mad", and I could get lost in my back garden - hence my clutching at straws here.

Tried 112 as an extension this morning - 112 is 911 for mobiles I believe. Didn't work though Wink Tried it on the night and day service.

Also tried the three dud extensions that we were given from the day service again, but didn't get anything..

About sounds.

Two ideas:

1. Very near the place pictured, and well within the error zone, is a mosiac of Long Island made for the World's Fair in 1962. That World's Fair is famous for the song "It's a Small World After All."

2. Right around the Memorial are two American Flags. They were at half-staff when I was there, but I wondered if the sound might have to do with the sound of a flag in the wind. The ruffling sound. Perhaps the repetitive clang of the lines hitting the metal pole.

On another note, pictures will be done in about 2 hours. A series of minor technical issues - plus I thought you guys would have worked it out by now- have set me back. Sorry really.

Off topic: Purely for educational purposes, 112 is the European standard number for emergency services, this number works in all European countries so you don't have to know their emergency number. 999, 911, doesn't matter, 112 always works.

Ok, so taking from one of the recent spoiler threads:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Lord Flaganroth just sounded kinda odd to me. "Flaganroth" might be an anagram for something like "a north flag" perhaps pointing us to where we should be looking. Of course at 7pm BST it probably won't matter anymore

Then again, probably not. But we should have Rose's pictures before the deadline... Maybe we'll be able to fill in the gaps from them.
