Ahh..sorry for mentioning that, then. Btw, you know how the message I got said I was close to the book? Maybe that's ltieral, seeing as no mroe then five feet from my computer is my bookshelf filled with books. Mostly,it's Howard Philips Lovecraft, and other tales based around his work. I didn't see his name mentioned on the pictures, but I did notice authors (such as Jules Verne). You think it's of any importance? Maybe I should start browsing thruogh my books for references?

The symbol?

Also, take note of the Pan Community Board 'logo' at the top of the page. The circle with 3 other circles in it. Perhaps our mysterious missing symbol?

Sorry that I have been away....family emergency....long (ongoing) story. For now, all is well. Will have to go back and read more thoroughly to see what I have missed.

Edit: if, indeed, it is representative of the mystery symbol from Six's page---the 'slogan' that goes with it is:

One People. One Time. One Planet

I dunno.....it does kinda fit the ongoing theme. Something to keep in mind as this goes on.

Curiouser and curiouser....

Edit #2- Obviously I should have read more thoroughly BEFORE I posted. I guess you could say that I respect Rogi so much that I felt compelled to parrot him. Wink

Mea Culpa.

And that post was made by someone with the Forum name of Oberon.

In mythology:

Quote:
Oberon, also Auberon, King of the Fairies, is most famous as a character in William Shakespeare's play, A Midsummer Night's Dream, written in the mid-1590s.

The medieval concept of the character Oberon arose from a multitude of earlier sources.

I'm going to research more before I post because I know my memory is muddled with false english mythology from the old T.V. cartoon "Gargoyles."

If you mean this as "It seems that only a select few really get the full experience." Then yes, in some ways, but we all share what happens.

If you mean this as "It seems that only the people in from the begining really get the full experience," Then no, you can catch up.

If you mean this as "It seems that only people with a lot of free time and a penchant for literaturature really get the full experience," Then yes and no, a love of literature will help you but is not really necessary. But then again I believe that a good book is a good enough reason to read, even without a game pushing you to do so.

If you mean this as "It seems as only the most brilliant minds from within the global community....only those of superior wisdom and incomparable morals.....are the chosen ones capable of getting the full experience.". Then yes, you are correct.

Ok, maybe that was a bit of a stretch.

Ok, maybe more than a bit. Wink

I don't really understand the Tortuga link. There aren't thirteen musical notes, only seven - twelve if you count the sharps/flats to make the chromatic scale. And silence certainly isn't a note. Or tone, as they put it. Even if they were talking about intervals, which "tone" can also refer to, there are only eight of those. And I have no clue how the "nxand, nand, ..." pretends to fit in.

This Pacal Votan guy is pretty interesting, though.

hehe we had a question about a midsummer night's dream in quiz bowl today (i got it right Razz) maybe we should look more into the mythology i've read it and generally it's just a silly story with humans who stumble upon The Fae and the consequences though.

As for the tortuga links and the law of time thing i really don't see the connection everyone is making except for the number 13 which is popular every and the thirteen moon calender which may be a huge movement for all we (meaning i) know.

Oberon is also the second largest, and outermost, of Uranus' notable satellites - discovered in 1787 by Herschel.

I think Oberon's a programming language/software environment, too.

In short - I don't think it really means much.

Remember: filter! Very Happy

I mean that it seems only the 'Scribes' get to actually play the game, and yes, although everyone else can help out it's not actually set up to embrace the outside community of players.

So yes jack, It seems that only a select few really get the full experience.
And yes incog, only the chosen ones capable of getting the full experience.

..and i have been following this since day one.
