I GOT IT!!
William Blake was an artist as well as a writer. The picture of the arms holding a compass is taken from one of Blake's paintings "Newton as a divine geometer".
The image can be seen in full here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Newton-WilliamBlake.jpg

Edit: Blake painted this while he was living in Lambeth district of London

Edit #2: Laughing Tee hee. Perhaps the bold letters were a little unnecessary. What can I say, i was excited Laughing

Ah!, I had to leave the computer alone for a whole day and everything is happening again. So I caught up, and I don't think anyone solved the 13's 3 on Jakalope's page yet, right?, sorry if it has already been mentioned...but in my book The Magician's Companion, full of goodies and symbols and stuff, that 3 looks like a Sanskrit letter ('U') I think, probably just a font to make things look like Sanskrit though. Oh and has using celestial navigation been mentioned, triangulation and such on the maps. That compass looked like a tool used for those such things. Also did anyone notice that some of the symbols used have been associated with secret societies (namely Illuminati, and Rosicrusian, maybe others), and that newest lead of MGs kind of almost sounds like one, Druids have been considered one by some as well. Just some thoughts of mine.

Well, if is locations in London we are trying to come up with....

Both Sir Isaac Newton and William Blake have monuments at Westminster Abbey. Sir Isaac Newton is also 'buried' there(Blake was buried in the Dissenters' Graveyard at Bunhill Fields) .

The monument to William Blake in Poet's Corner in the Abbey. Newton's monument stands against the choir screen...which is north of the entrance to the choir.

Shot in the dark it is....but it is the first place I found that they had/have in common. Will keep looking...

Edit: Good find Coelacanth!! You are dead on correct about it being the source of the picture. Now, to figure out the 'meaning' it has in this particular quest. Shocked

Edit#2: Another good find Sollune! Does someone know how to overlay the map from Book Zero onto the map Sollune found? To kinda see what area we may be dealing with?

Edit#3: Interesting: c.1788: All Religions are One, There is No Religion written by William Blake

If, indeed, they are all of the same map......I like Sollune's site best. You can move about the map quickly and easily....zooming in if wanted.

As I said before...I am not really a visual person....so I had less than no luck trying to figure out where the bit of map under the Blake quote is located.

I am to bed.

Catch ya'll on the flip....

re. the map under the blake verses.

The map shows a part of central London. If you start at the 'arch' shape in the bottom right corner, that's Aldwych and the Strand and the road running north-west from here is Kingsway. This crosses Holborn and Theobald's Lane and then the dark square just under the word 'eternity' is Russell Square. The road continues NW and crosses Euston Road just under the word 'heaven'. It passes Euston Station adjacent to the word 'see'.

i found out where on the speculate map the hand was pointing to.
i'm not sure how useful it will be but here it is. (the pink bit is where the hand's pointing at)

Nice find with the speculate-speculum map, sollune Very Happy
But it's a good question whether it'll be that or the map on the alphabet/whereisI page, which Law of Five mentioned, that tells the location of the book.

Also can't help wondering whether the "I am your Starting Point" refers to Newton, Blake or just London? Seems the more information that is complied the more questions arise Razz

Think it might be the Tate Gallery in London, but I'd better double check Wink

Not quite. Apparently the Tate in London is divided into Tate Britain and Tate Modern, and even though Tate Modern doesn't appear to be that far from Aldwych and the Strand, which Law of Five mentioned as being part of the map on the page with the Blake poem, it's still on the other side of the bank. And the Tate Britain is quite a bit to the Southwest http://www.tate.org.uk/britain/images/map_tatetotate.gif

Edit: Oh, and just to make a small attempt at aligning the two maps. Aldwych (the arche shape) is near(ish - although a bit to the west of) Blackfriars, and on the speculate-speculum map Blackfriars is listed between the "a" and the "m" in "Thamys"
