i'm in manchester!
woo, interaction :) so are we thinking a possible standing in the town centre looking at the sky for these skywriters we have been promised?
i've been told there is a sky centre in manchester www.khanskycentre.co.uk (thanks brat in IRC) which i can go check out if need be but tbh it sounds like a electrical/computers/comms type wholesalers to me, especially the location it comes up with. cant say i've heard of it myself.
obviously though, if it is skywriters it'll be a specific time/date, but i shall be in town tomorrow and keeping a look out and a camera close at hand!

rach =)

How can non-UKers buy the next chapter?

This was purchased, no wonder my IRC client said RecedaBot No such nick/channel

Where do I purchase it?

Wow! That was a lot of fun! (Even though I had to take my turn while at work on the phone with my boss.) i really hope MC follows up with a second part, as it seemed to hint at!

Too bad I only caught the tail end of it, looked pretty crazy after looking over the logs.

I'm going to take a swing and guess that "buying" might not involve money, but maybe a answer to a puzzle? (Or, maybe paying in puzzle cards? Who knows.)

Once someone "buys" it, I'd bet that a new date & time will pop up on the website, for another session like today's.

I remeber In the early days, on the Perplex City site, it said that this came can take place through "SKY WRITING" could they be hinting at this? Make sure to look up today, Mancunians

This chapter wasn't purchased - but we are lead to believe that future chapters will need to be - possibly from Manchester, UK - which lead to the question you quoted, Arashi.

I don't know what was up with your error msg - we had problems initially but they sorted them out quite quickly.

It was great fun - and really good team work! Very intense for me at the end, trying to read Atrophied & Lorics directions in one java window and swop before being kicked (again)!

Nice one MC!

It looked greeat fun, I was lurking for a while as I was hosting a poncy dinner party-Bruschetta anyone? It sounded carnage at times, death, death, death.

Is there no indication of time/dates when the 'event' will happen. I need to go to Manchester for work sometime before Christmas and could arrange this around the date. None?

quick update - i rang the number on the khan sky centre website last night and it gave a bt error tone and said 'this number does not receive incoming calls'. figuring they may have turned the switchboard off for the night or something, i rang back just now but still the same message. was planning on at least trying to find out what type of business they were - will have a look on the system next time i'm in work (i work for the police) to see if that gives any clues.
on my way into the town centre this afternoon, will keep an eye out for anything interesting and report back later :)

rach =)

That sounds illegal and a good idea.

Well, for anyone interested, heres a tidy (er) version of the game log.

In addition, I counted about 23 unique deaths scripts (not including being Muffin-ed) - and in the interests of comedy here they are (with names!):

Loric - You open the cabinet again, but something heavy falls off the top shelf and lands on you. You die.

Tangohead - You open the wardrobe again, despite the fact that you have already opened it and looked inside, but something heavy falls off the top shelf and lands on you. You die.

Juxta - You read the scroll, which you have already read, which still says 'CENTRE'. While handling it, you cut yourself and bleed to death.

Sasuntsi_Davit - You knock on the door, but it remains firmly closed. A young Academician standing at the top of the gates drops a very heavy book on your head, probably conducting a physics experiment. Oh well, it's not your fault. In any case, you're dead, and it's probably not a good idea to try and get into the Academy through the front door.

Chippy - Since there is no exit to the south, you walk into a wall, weakening the structure such that it collapses on you. You die. I guess you shouldn't try walking into walls.

Josiah - You enter the school, where the teacher on duty collars you and sticks you in detention for being late. By the time school is over and you get back home, the old man is dead. Game over.

Dysper - You attempt to pick up the ladder and fit it into your bag, but the bag tears, you fall over, hitting your head and, alas, die.

Cassandra - You attempt to walk directly to the White Code Tavern, with no diversions, but end up walking into a private house, getting shot by a crossbow and dying. Better not try that one again.

Riiick - For no reason whatsoever, despite the fact you were doing so well, you fall down and die. It's no fault of your own, but it just seems like the gods have decreed that your time has passed.

Atrophied - You gingerly lower yourself into the hole, thinking, for no good reason, that its bottom would be but a few feet away. Instead, you fall to your death many feet below. You'll probably need something to help you get down. It is quite deep though.

Brat-sampson - You look around. Nothing has changed. While you lamely wait, two men carrying a sheet of glass (some kind of window, you think) walk straight into you, smashing the glass such that you start bleeding copiously. You die painfully. Clearly the gods are not to be mocked.

Oliverkeers13 - The man looks at your blank expression, confused. He soon bores of this, and looks back to his exciting job. While this is happening, some dock workers carrying cargo trip over a rock, throw it on your head, and you die.

BrianEnigma - You enter the dark alley again, against all reason. A shadow detaches itself from the wall, and you die. Painfully. Stupidly.

Spankit - The boy laughs in your face. "Of course not, you idiot! It's fifty fifty for both!" He jumps on you with his puzzler gang and beats you to death before the teachers can reach you. It's a pretty bad school, near the bottom of the league (can you tell?)

FreeMorpheme - You move north. Despite your careful planning previously, you are eaten by a grue. Even your sock puppet is no use against it. You wish you hadn't spent all your time waiting around before - you could've gotten through the maze by now. You die.

Juxta - You move east. The gods frown upon your presumption, for there is no floor here. Too bad. You die.

Scott - You move east. You're sucked into a large, revolving, gigantic fan. You are chopped to pieces. Oh well. You're dead, obviously.

Josiah - You attempt to move back into the library lobby, for no good reason, but a book falls on your head and kills you. What a predictable death.

Filmguy1013 & Sasuntsi_Davit - 2 x Silent assassins flit out between the bookshelves and slice off your head. They leave a note on your body which says, "No talking in the library." You die.

Dysper - As you wait, you stumble and fall, due to your reduced health. You die. Well done... you were smart, but not smart enough. You should've tried for the balls earlier.

Riiick - You try to enter the office without the key, but the doorhandle is electrified as a security system. You die. Too bad.

Talos - You don't know the way back, so you stumble around the Academy corridors. Eventually a passing Academician takes pity and puts you out of your misery. You are dropped from the Academy walls in a physics experiment. You die.

Loric - You walk into a wall. You die. It's a pretty spiky wall. Shame about those directions.

EDIT: Missed a couple & added names! - cheers for making me check, chippy!

And if the log still looks too intimidating (I hate reading irc logs), I'm making a map and writing a description as I go. I'll let you know when it's done.

So, those of you who were in the chat, remember how I kept joking that I'd rather cancel my class to be there through the end of Receda's Revenge? And remember how virtuous I was to leave for work anyway?

Well, on my way to work, a car slammed into me from behind. Though I'm basically fine, I ended up spending that hour on the side of the road with the cops instead of in the classroom with my students. Confused

Moral of the story: Always choose to skip work when the option is presented

Laughing

Honestly, as soon as I realized I hadn't broken anything, etc., I thought, And I could have stayed at home to play PPC... Grrr...

Laughing Leave it to me to turn anything into a reason to goof off more often.

Sounds like a good idea - perhaps I won't go to math - even though today is the last class before the first midterm! Thank you for opening my eyes to the truth!

Hehe .. Cool

Where do you teach Mokey?

Glad you're fine Mokey, but that really is bad luck. Clearly MC were trying to save you by text-adventure.

As I was saying earlier, I've had far too much free time today, and this map and guide were the result. I don't think it's the clearest map in the world (and doesn't involve the actual map of PXC), but it's an attempt.
