[PUZZLE -- PARTIALLY-SOLVED] Secret of the Safe Per request, split from this thread . Carry on! --Phaedra
Since we've solved the joker thing... and to bring us back to topic...
(I know, ME? Bringing us back to TOPIC?)
But anyone have bright ideas on the Safe Bet thing?

judging by the new 'rewards revealed' page here:
http://www.lastcallpoker.com/user/shared/Rewards.gif
the secret of the safe will come from the game itself.
This also implies that LCP will continue past the game's release date.

Just to be clear, I think this means that perhaps after playing/beating GUN, then you'd get this code, right? (at least we think so)

that'd be my guess. It could be an element of the game's story (cracking a safe with a combo or something), a simple card in the game's case (like the Joker in the deck), or something else entirely. But it doesn't look like we'll find it before 11/8.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but don't a couple of people already have the Secret of the Safe? I seem to remember someone mentioning this....
If so, are we assuming they are/were involved with the games devolpment or sale? Like the EB world workers being the first to the Mark of the Joker?

hi all, i thought i was onto something. but alas its
a bit of
a dead end.. (quite literally )
by all means read on. (the links are only for story continuation, and cos its neat to embed stuff)
"The Secret of the Safe" was a story published in The Sexton Blake Library 1st Series Issue 268, in Jan 1923 . It was written by an Alfred Edgar.
Now, to actually find an issue of any Sexton Blake publication is quite rare, to find that specific one (268) is dam nigh impossible unless you talk to a collector. (ebay to no avail ).
Sexton Blake was sort of a Sherlock Holmes of the 20's, seen in various british comics, radioplays?(not sure), and movies, and was at one point played by a George Curzon ...
which of course means nothing I just saw the curzon/corazon, detective, same era as current theme of website, the fact that sexton blake is also a term for fake and we discovered corozan is a manly man, heh quite the coincidences. which is of course irksome, as I was really hoping there would be a way to solve the safe w/o say flying to america and preordering a game so I can get a code from a pack a cards...
(mutter mutter mutter..yeah I missed out and am having a opine.. mutter)

Trout me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is new:

Looks like they're now clarifying that you'll get the secret of the safe when you buy the game... or is that what you guys meant earlier?

QBKookky this is new. Good find about the secret of the safe.
"You bought a Gun. Now go find Hollister."
Who or what is Hollister? The next question for us.
The Gun website now also mentions that there are secret weapons to unlock. So maybe the Mark of the Joker and the Secret of the Safe will give players weapons in the

There is a small town in California named Hollister, established in 1872. coincidence??? May be of some signifigance in the game. Also a Hollister, MO, named by a man whose daughter was born in Hollister, CA. Just trying to help .

According to next month's issue of Wired magazine, GUN will be a "sandbox" styled game (like GTA, Spider-Man, or the coming-soon True Crime 2: NYC), meaning big play areas with multiple missions so you can go do your own thing. According to the article, GUN features a prarie that takes more than three hours to walk across on foot (!), but there will be alternate modes of travel such as trains, horsies, etc (is it too much to hope for one of the huge-front-wheel-tiny-back-wheel-bicycles?).
That's a lot of space to hide a small town or a person (and I'm guessing it's a person).

If I get to play as a cowboy riding the tiny/big wheeled bicycle, this ARG will have been worth it for that alone.

So, the game is released the first week of November.
LCP Live event in LA is Nov 19th (presumably the culmination of the story aka "end of the ARG").
Does that only give us a limited time frame to find Hollister?
Or will free online LCP poker remain available for an extended time afterwards (but without new updates and dead characters unless the PMs get bored and want to pay us visits)?

If this ARG continues on for a while, that means Lucky and I can work on developing a meaningful relationship!

I was looking at the GUN site , and I think it was recently updated/ At least there was more there than the last time I looked.
Point being, under "The West" and under "Characters" you will find Hollister (of the creepy pale eyes).
