Josh: It's in the picture-- part of the manuscript that lemony is holding up. It's hella faded but you can make a pretty good guess at it.

Also

Quote:
The Volunteer Training manual suggests that in certain coded letters, certain letters may be uncertain. Insert these letters in the blanks at bottom.

If you look on the home page of lemonysnicket.com, you'll find a code in that first message, which fits into the blanks there. However, I didn't get a piece of the puzzle that way. Sad Here is what it comes out to be

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The worst came after their cover was revealed

Hi. I'm new. been following the mad search for lemony with y'all but I decided to make my presence known.

Have a very fine day![/spoiler]

Also it is a rather befitting name considering the names of the other books

Of course. LOL Can't forget the alliteration. It fits rather well.

I wonder if y'all have taken a look at saturday's clue. The quote from the Hostile Hospital leads to an amazon page which gives you this:

Quote:
From the Inside Flap
"The Bears' Famous Invasion of Sicily is one of the noblest books I know. At once a tragic inquiry and a philosophical history, the novel examines ambition, violence, and revenge in the voice of an adult explaining things to children--a voice that is simultaneously wise, wry, and wrong. Little wonder that it is not only my favorite book, but Lemony Snicket's as well." --Daniel Handler

"The Bears' Famous Invasion of Sicily is one of the noblest books I know. At once a philosophical history and a tragic inquiry, the tale also contains a magic wand, a haunted castle, and a giant sea serpent, which automatically make any story much more interesting. Little wonder that it is not only my favorite book, but Daniel Handler's as well." --Lemony Snicket

Anyone got any ideas?

VOCABULARY FREQUENTLY DEGRADED - 10/06/05

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1.) the Eskimo word for sea lion

2.) rubbery

3.) actors who only play dogs or, in rare cases, cats

4.) smelling of elves

5.) pierced with a fork

6.) things that numerous foolish people manage to do at the same time

7.) utterly disgusting

8.) leapt from one rooftop to another

9.) very, very good at spelling

10.) the sound made when an easy chair is dropped on someone from a great height

Also, I really do believe that Book the Twelfth will indeed be called:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Horrid Hotel

Because the pieces they give you for the cover of the book, Klaus is wearing a Bellboy uniform. It is clearly a picture of a hotel doorway.

hello i guess not but well in response to what Biloxi_Guy_72 said about the title your right its clearly at a hotel you can especially tell if you read the words on the page from book the twelfth and look at the pictures the other thing is at the end of the eleventh book in the messed up letters fom Mr. Snicket he talks about it being the hotel denoumont i think is what it is

what im confused about is telling who is who in the picture of the cover you kno this is kinda silly playing this mystery solving thing because by the time we finish it will be the same day that the book comes out but it is a nice way to pass the time Smile

i mean obviously you have klaus baudelaire, violet baudelaire and then i guess down in the right corner you have vice principal neroand then i guess the woman above and to the left of him would be the woman teacher from the austere academy and then im guessing the person that will be next to her will be mr. remora...

In reply to vViInOcLeEnTt's post saying my answer #3 is wrong I would just like to take this time to say, "Umm...no it isn't." The directions say to answer the WRONG answer in case you missed that. And Rachel, thank you, I agree with everything you said but I only have one question...why didn't you just post all that in just one post? LOL Silly girl.
