it's a haunting site, but why can't you get to the picture of the red-headed man anymore..

and who wrote the poetry?

Nirke

what do you mean? are you trying to find the red-headed guy?

although Alephstar is an intriguing site, I do think it is more "Art" than a game.. though I could be (which would be nice) wrong

unfortunately, my "history" been cleared so don't think I can get back to the old Alephstar, but am sure our new buddy "Alephstar" could help you

Nirke

using the Wayback machine (which our old friend Jon Harker introduced us to - well, some of us, am sure some already knew about it), I managed to find the link to the old Alephstar....

web.archive.org/web/20040918024212/http://alephstar.com/

although as I've said above, I think this site is more to do with Art than with Games...but if I'm proved wrong, I for one, will be splendiferously pleased...

it's a cool site anyway, whatever it's about

PS I didn't check out the earlier versions of the site on WayBack - there are quite a few

By the way Nirke, never said congrats on you solving the photo clue

"Everything is much clearer in black & white"

nice one!

shame the game's over .... I really enjoyed it

some of the new ones are too computer tecchie for me - give me a nice riddle anytime

and i thought all the in-game sites were cleverly done

soz for the multiple posts tonight (but is anyone actually reading this forum anymore, anyway)

but Nirke's solve made me look at photo again and so google "Nol/aders" (the other half the "V" from [space In]vaders being visible on the photo) which brought up some results for a German guy with links to Hilbert (the Hilbert of Hilberts Hotel in Babel, one of the destinations on Pathway travel....where the library was... the library where Jon said he found the Book of Star)... (some nifty diagrams labelled "Hilberts" on that site)

what a coincidence!

....or did he pick-his-nic after the game....

http://www.omnimesis.com/ This is the website for Daniel James O'Connell, and I'm guessing alephstar is his too because of the pics and the web address Razz

Looks pretty weird... Perfect site to trawl through when listening to Godspeed You Black Emperor

alcofribas, Thanks man - i apreciate your words.

Pretty sad to reat your coclusions about the site, i thought that maybe we have a breakthrough. And tonights soccer results on the Israeli group took us farther from the world cup. what a sad evening it was.

I'm not quit sure yet that this game is over, i said it once and i'll say it again - i think that something will happen now, because October is when the game started isn't it ?

Anyway, best wishes to England on it's way to world cup...

RE:- site content

Hello.
The site isn't a game - it's a project.
At the moment it's pieces of a larger site I am building.
Its aim is to release certain amounts of knowledge, esoteric in nature, with a view to 'sparking' up the inquisitor in people - then to 'draw out' the alchemist, perhaps even the magician.
The poems, the extracts and the anima illustration are all designed to be 'clues' or 'keys' for the beginning of exploration into the nature of, what can be called, the 'philosophy' behind the AlephStar.

I'm glad people liked it – this is curious to me the coming about of its discovery through your gaming site – all things for a reason perhaps.

I'm planning to upload more information shortly and revamp the entire site after I've finished a different project.

Good luck with your gaming.

Best
.11.
