Well... someone's watching. They just removed a post on the blog that had a link to an obscene website (a favorite of the juvenile crowd). That's encouraging.

twiztid said he was guest, actually. So, s/he's watching, but he's not them watching us.... Shocked

Cool, thanks. I'm also banging on the server. Have tried caesarSPLATtheaquapolis.com with cassius, 0151, 0104, whiterabbit, redqueen, lost, slot, stol, mnopqr

Don't forget the missing word as a password possibility... carelessly, or possibly carefully, since it's a lack of it...

/me grasps at straws...

Tried those. Grrr.

That would give us a hell of a time... The other login parts are not case sensitive, but i'm not quite sure about ftp... if it can be turned off or not.

I think we should start thinking again instead of wildly going aroun trying out every pass that comes to mind...

Questions like "what's with the other picture?" and "what's with Eye See & et tu?"

Since it's a puzzle, you might want to pick up the trail of this page here...

(And you might want to read the prior posts before posting findings or questions...)

OK, so we were discussing this in IRC, and I was thinking (I do that sometimes)

These are the letters we have

Eye See, STOL, Et Tu

Eye See becomes IC

Et Tu Becomes And You(U)

The phrase becomes I C STOL and U

So, using the letters I, C, S, T, O, L, U, I plugged them into an anagram maker, and part of the results was LOCUST I

given that a username or password likely isn't two words, and the origin of caesar and brutus, I changed I to a roman numeral, resulting in

LOCUST 1

or locust1. I think that this has a good chance of being the password.

Or a reference to the Locust Story at littleboxes?

So... we're supposed to move over to the puzzle section now? Forgive me, I'm new at this ARG thing. (Although I find myself saying Argggh a lot.)

I don't know if this is significant, but Caesar's reminder to use "user@domain.tld" pops up when you try to FTP into any of the game sites, including leiphe.net, but not metacortechs.com. Given the sea urchins=aqua and police=polis theory, I think we're supposed to be hacking into Aquapolis, but I think it's interesting that Caesar put the message on the other systems, too. It at least suggests that Caesar isn't Avery or one of hte missing.

I have no idea if this is right, or what, but it makes sense to me, so I throw it out and await judgement:

could the end of that sentence be "o the vortex" ("... closer to the vortex")

as in an exclamation

or am i just sleep deprived?

The answer to at least one of these questions is Yes!

Since the webpages run in the same server, I suspect that it doesn't matter the one you try to ftp into, it's the same one.

ftp

Im not sure if this is relevant.. but if you type in http://ftp.theacropolis.com it redirects you to the underscore hosting website.. if you put ftp in front of the other sites it doesnt do this.
