Credit goes to ecwilder on MFN for this one.

In Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, about 60 lines before the quote from the 2nd pic, Brutus says to Cassius:

BRUTUS: No, Cassius, for the eye sees not itself
But by reflection, by some other thing.

Huh. Reflection is a motif in the Matrix movies... the coppertops' eyes don't see themselves, but what the Matrix wants them to see, "by some other thing." Ok, I see the connection to the movies, now what on earth is this play's connection to this game?

I think the person who translated the Wingdings in the first place (have long since lost track of who that was, or where) said that the phrase read from bottom to top, so that the box highlighted "Always to have more lessons to learn."

My question is whether or not the 'e' in learn is also highlighted - seems to be about half in the highlight box.

(Oh, and thanks for correcting my location, Worznar. I always mis-remember that!)

so stol(e) is highlighted, but so are the kid/bunny's eyes. so (eye) stol(e) = "I Stole...." something?

anything stolen in julius caesar?

All right.. It seems that the Shakespeare play is the connecting link between the quotes on Paintover.. Could it be that there's something else in there we have missed? Perhaps S T O L is a hint to another part of the text?

I think we're on to something here..

Hey guys...

Just stumbled over this in Alice in Wonderland:

Quote:
'I see!' said the Queen, who had meanwhile been examining the roses. 'Off with their heads!' and the procession moved on, three of the soldiers remaining behind to execute the unfortunate gardeners, who ran to Alice for protection.

"I see" - Eye see (first paintover.net picture)
"Gardeners" - Gairden?
And something about a queen (Red Queen?)

This is probably not relevant though...

Oh...btw... S TO L could mean s - l on the keyboard: SDFGHJKL
Far fetched, but could be a password somewhere...like using qwerty or 12345...

If Phillip was helping/protecting Beth.
Then Phillip would be the gardeners, Beth beeing Alice, and the red queen the machines???

This might be nothing.. But then again, it might not....

A Nice idea, but wouldn't it be the other way around?

In the passage, Alice was the protector.

Hello, Red Queen? Anyone here see the Animatrix? In that, you have a detective (almost Phillip Marlowe-style) who is hired by agents to track down the Red Queen - who turns out to be Trinity.

I've been trying Red Queen for a password and username repeatedly, but but apparently that's not the right road to go down. Just wanted to bring up the Red Queen thing.
