LaVie was actually a character from Project Gateway. I don't remember a lot about her other than she was one of Shadown's lackey types. So, it would make sense for it to read "Here is the piece of crap Shadoofus sent me LaVie, God this is such a laugh - Rowen" - but yeah, I do see what you mean about it being set apart from the rest of the sentence.

 		I decided to join in on dropping Mr Pytak a line. I just asked him about the cool artwork on his site, what George and Brendan were like in real life and how he met them. Here's his response:

of some sort. Crystal. It's got a carving of a Libra
on it. Maybe he reads his horoscope.

Young Monk Brendan. He's in his late 20s, has
short brown hair and he's a follower. You'll find
him tailing Father George a lot, even though the
old man yells at him a lot.

I don't remember how I met these guys. They're
just characters I ran into. I meet a lot of them in
my line of work.

In the past 10 minutes I've received this E-mail. I checked so I'm pretty sure I won't be trouted this time. It looks like it was mass sent to anyone who has E-mailed The Historian.

Eheheh. I'm going by Central time. I supose it would be 12:30 for a majority of you.

Edit again:

I actually sent him two E-mails awhile ago: and received two. One seems to have been sent 3 minutes before the other one. At 11:27.

Just a little bit more edit:

I checked the line. It says in my GMAIL account that his alias is "Your friend" where in mine it has my name. And it was sent to: "me" wherein mine has his Gmail line "Historyneverdi". It's the same on both so I assume anyone who has this E-mail will see the same thing.

 		Seems I got the same email, at 4.30pm GMT (plus 10 seconds).

Mine was 'RE: Belle' (the topic of the original email I sent 'Your Friend').

 		My theory about "our friend" he's a bot or a script set to run at a certain time replying with a certain response to every email he has in his inbox one at a time. if you sent 5 emails you'll get 5 replys with the same message.

 		Woo, I got it too. Well, I doubt he'll be appearing anywhere near me (though you never know!) but I guess we should all begin keeping an eye out for potential omnipotent beings in our local pub/corner shop/etc.. Smile

So it sounds like we're supposed to do something, but we haven't. And the Historian is giving us another week before he comes out and hands us the answer on a platter and calls us all "lousy non-puzzle-solving nancies".

So umm, what are we missing?

something to do with pytak apparently since he was speaking during the rift maybe we need to learn something more from him or from the letter.

We might ask Stephen if he knows how we might be able to get in contact with Belle, because we're kinda worried about how she is ever since the events of the original Project: GATEWAY.

(Frankly, judging by the tone of her little note, she sounds like the perfect "in" for subverting the Section, and a little ego-boosting might help make her a tougher nut to crack.)

Belle, this is Macavity.

I don't know if you remember me, or Onionring, or Atrpohied, or Axys
Denyed, or . . . or, hell, any of us Gatecrashers here on Earth-Beta.
You know, that weird world a dimension away where we picked up your
distress calls when the Shadow Government scrobbled you lot? Man,
that was a time and a half we had, cracking those codes and getting
the keys and putting paid to Project: GATEWAY INTO NIGHTMARE . . .

But I digress. Some of us stuck around, monitoring the datastreams,
and we picked up some anomalies . . . and they led back to you and
Section 32, Belle.

I know you may not believe it, but they care about you. They cared
enough to do their damnedest to bring you back after you almost
bought the farm. Hell, I'd probably have done the same, if I'd known
how, or been with the Section at the time.

You know, Belle, you remind me a bit of something Londo Mollari of
the Centauri Republic once said, when his people, and the Narns, and
the Minbari, and the Drazi, and the Pak'Ma'Ra and . . . and . . . and
half a million other races formed an alliance to face off against two
of the most powerful races in the universe - an alliance brought
together by the human race, who stuck up not only for themselves but
for their friends and allies, no matter if they were Centauri, Narn,
Drazi Pak'Ma'Ra, Minbari, or any of the other half a million other
races . . .

"You Humans have helped us. Not just the Centauri, or the Narn, or
the Minbari . . . all of us. They have given us a place to rally,
they have helped us when we needed it, without thought for themselves
or any reward.

"Would the Centauri have done that for the Narn? Would the Drazi have
done that for the Pak'Ma'Ra? No - but the Humans would, and the
Humans have.

"You are the glue that holds us together."

And I guess, in a way, you're part of the glue that holds Section 32
together. I don't know of anyone else in either world - Earth-alpha
or Earth-Beta - who would have done what you did for the Section, or
anyone who would have done for you what Section 32 did.

Maybe I'm wrong - maybe there are people out there who would have
done it - but i doubt it. Most people these days, when asked to do
something, almost always ask the question, "What's in it for me?"
they may not use those same words, but the idea's always there.

I guess . . .

I don't know what to say, Belle. I don't know if there's anything
more I can say, actually. Except, if you ever need someone to talk
to, someone outside the Section . . . well, I'm here. Drop me a line
or give me a buzz sometime - Mercurious should have all the contact
info for Relay Station Alpha, and you can usually get in touch with
me there. Or, if I'm out and about, the secondary comm unit should
get the signal.

Uh-oh, I gotta get back to work - Sequoya needs the grid reference
for RS Alpha so she can dispatch a relief crew!
