Good grief, the Great British Drinking Culture eh? I might not partake in alcohol just on principle... (especially without Snowball buying the shots!) That said, I agree with Oliver that bringing a bit of money for sustanence would be wise as it could potentially be a long day.

It'd be good to meet somewhere Playlounge way, preferably in a bar/coffee-shop as it's easier to hang out while we're waiting for people. That said, we're bound to get more information on the event nearer the time, so let's delay deciding on somewhere until then.

Chippy, I'd think aiming to arrive about midday would be wise, unless that involves getting up horribly early...

Perplexed, where are you from? Central London really isn't that hard to get to!

Oh, and does anyone have a laptop with WiFi they'd consider bringing? There's plenty of access points (I believe all Central London Starbucks have them) and it'd save having to wait for a computer at an internet cafè. A cameraphone-with-email would also be cool because you can use the functionality to upload straight to Flickr.

There's an update on

http://recedaresorts.com/accessmainframe/

Increased chatter and traffic analysis has shown that a number of agents may arriving to monitor or disrupt the handover. As a security precaution, you will be required to verify your identity at a number of waypoints before we meet; you will also receive information regarding the final meeting point and time at these waypoints. It is highly unlikely that the unknown network will be able to cause any real problems as they are lacking in numbers and capabilities.

You will require real time internet access and online assistance in order to co-ordinate with us and receive instructions. If necessary, use a contact you trust and give them the standard cover story.

This makes it all the more important that those people unable to attend can confirm if they're able to be online on the day. Northerners, Continental Europeans and yes, even Eastern Americans (midday UK = 7am EST - not too bad, right?) sign in!

I can bring my phone with instant flickr uploading capabilities. If its close ups, its ok, but far away objects (like planes trailing banners) its not very good. Ive also got jIRC as a java-wap irc thingy on the phone - works ok to transmit crucial info quickly, as per Sunday - but calling someone "at base" may be better, especially if the message is complex.

We may need to consider a Teamspeak or Ventrillo server - (like what happened for Abbey Road) I know that you could, by using VOIP, get people to ring in, and everyone should be able to hear.... We can also record calls on someones pc if we rang a voip number.

Are they any good at puzzles? Smile Seriously though, it's cool, and it should be a fun day out, although goodness knows what they'll make of it all!

My parents have lateral minds - they are good with puzzles. My dad was helping me co-ordinate the search in New York with me, was mentioning things that no-one had even thought about.

It would be good to ahve an "outsiders" perspective on it. They haven't followed the story, and we are so engulfed in it, they may spot some things out there that we would otherwise miss.

Besides, they like the cards ^_^

hmmm i think i may be in france on that day... damn. Its the second day of half term, that was bad planning, those murdsering cube guarders have no appreciation of other peoples conflicting interests. If I were making a secret cult organisation to protect a secret cube, i would at least have the key word hunting on a bank holiday, its discraceful *mutters* i'll show them, i'll start my own cult i'll call it...........................................................hmmm..............................................*mumbles*..........................ahaaa! I shall call my secret cube guarding cult 'The Fourth Power' all who wish to join me should PM me and i will try and arrange a meeting date on which noone has prior arrangements.

i take it from the update that we will be meeting the mastermind behind the whole of the third power, the big boss, the kingpin, the big cheese, the leader, the fourth level mason, the DG if you will. Then we can pump him for information, what we need are some guitar cases with secret hidden compartments that can hold machine guns, and if anyone goes 'this is kinda heavy for a guitar' we can whip out are guitars and walk past then sneak out the machine guns and the built in flamethrower and threaten MR BIG. If only i could be there... i shall hopefully be in irc though so if you need any farfetched crane-ish conspiracy theories I'm your man.

I'll try to be there, since this is pretty big and I don't want to miss it. If not though, I can be online all day.

I also can't help thinking that since the last update makes it seem like they're watching us, it wouldn't be a bad idea to hide any important information we're discussing.... although I'm not sure how we'd go about doing that. Just an thought, anyway.
