I think it makes sense, and I agree up till the part about X. Although a 3rd personality is a possibility. However I don't think that V could be involved in this purely because I don't think they would have introduced him to us so easily.

Of course, I could be wrong.

Im not saying it IS V. But im sure theres somebody darker. Just never eliminate all possibilities.

But if they were related, wouldnt he have said so? Perhaps to keep a low profile? Anyway, old man eyes are old man eyes.

Scarlett said the old man and Allain have the *same* eyes and gait. I believe they're one in the same. Maybe one is a time traveler, of sorts?

The old Allain could be here from the future, trying to warn us of something terrible that will happen. Young Allain could be here from the past, trying to change something terrible, that has already happened.

I was under the impression that the "Now she'll find out everything" conversation came about because TOM had possibly led Scarlett here with the intention to harm her. He wanted Allain to be close to her, but not so close he'd spoil TOM's fun.

Maybe he needs Scarlett for ransom? Or information? Is he after something Sente has?

I do think of Allain as like the sock puppet for TOM, who is either really an old man, or some sort of AI. Perhaps an old man using AI to control Allain... this in turn give TOM physical qualities of Allain because, for the purposes of this mission, they are essentially the same person.

Scarlett seems like the likely target here. Allain seems very confused and upset, which would go with his being controlled by an AI or something else. And anyway, what do we know about Allain? He's a nobody, as far as I can tell. Scarlett, however, is somebody. She's Sente's daughter. Isn't it possible TOM used Allain as a way to lead Scarlett somewhere dangerous?

/sigh ... I can feel holes in this every way we look at it. There has to be something we're missing.

Well once weve got these ideas, perhaps we can pick on something from the next entry. Who says we cant solve it 3 logs ahead?

As a firm believer in Occam's razor I'm rejecting time travel and multiple personalities as the answer to ANYTHING.

Being that there is definitely a PHSYICAL difference between TOM and Allain (mainly that TOM is OLD), however the revelation that they are somehow the same person, seems more in line with earlier specs of some sort of technology or scientific process that allows for a person in PPC to change their physical appearance.

I think another question to think about is why would TOM / Allain feel the need to lead Scarlett to Vindembourg if he intended on going their himself... And if TOM / Allain was the one that attacked/injured Scarlett then why did he lead her onto this to begin with?
