hmm.. it strikes me that windings is mentioned in relation to the labyrinth. After all, the text on the first picture at Paintover was in windings..

I think "windings" was a miss-spelling of "wingdings" carried from the original post.

I could be wrong, we have "webdings" so it's not impossible

No, No, not at all. And thanks for taking the time to do the work, "Labyrinth" could definitely be a lead.

We need to keep stuff like this coming. It could spark ideas in other people.

(Trouts are for those who just jump in without reading previous posts, you were just working from a corrupt source Wink )

In that chapter of Brave New World that Marcus' quote appears, and the rest of the book itself, the characters refer to being sent to an Island, where those who grow too knowledgeable are sent... Quoting the Controller talking to Watson:

"He's being sent to an island. That's to say, he's being sent to a place where he'll meet the most interesting set of men and women to be found anywhere in the world. All the people who, for one reason or another, have got too self-consciously individual to fit into community-life. All the people who aren't satisfied with orthodoxy, who've got independent ideas of their own. Every one, in a word, who's any one. I almost envy you, Mr. Watson."

I had thought this all might be a build up for the story of Theseus & the Minotaur & Crete... Or some Greek island (aquapolis perhaps)... but the texel find on the ftp site diminished this idea...

UPDATE

Marcus Ormond's bio now includes a new line: Favorite Song: Beatles - When I'm 64

It has been previously noted that mlo is the only person with date of birth in his bio, he is 64 years old..

The new update might imply that the number 64 might indeed be a hint to his password..

I agree. Been trying mlo password with the new info. No luck with birthdates, sixty-four, lyrics, Beatles, band members etc so far though.

Song Lyrics..

From letssingit.com:

When I'm Sixty-Four
by Beatles

When I get older, losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a Valentine, birthday greatings, bottle of wine?
If I'd been out till quarter to three would you lock the door?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When i'm sixty-four?

You'll be older too,
And if you say the word I could stay with you.
I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside,Sunday morning go for a ride, doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four?

Every summer we can rent a cottage.
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear.
We shall scrimp and save.
Grandchildren on your knee,
Vera, Chuck, and Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line, stating point of view.
Indicate precisely what you mean to say.
Your's sincerely wasting away.
Give me your answer, fill in a form.
Mine for evermore.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?

------

Any thoughs?

Favourite song ...

It strikes me that telling us that "When I'm 64" is his favourite song could be an effort to remind us that he's 64, and we know his birthday. I suspect it's got nothing to do with the Beatles and their song ... rather that the song is trying to lead us back to something we already could have guessed.
