Show that hat a good time, pita! Jinxie and I were just chatting about how it'd be great to see that hat all victiorious at the top of that twisty leetle road, for example. Or, straw-ily gazing out at the Golden Gate Bridge in awe.

Ahh, Lombard Street. How well I remember *that* road. I was like 8 when my mom got into a car wreck in our old El Camino going down that street... rear ended someone when the car wouldn't stop, and if not for my lap belt (no shoulder belts back in the Stone Age, lol), I woulda gone flying through the windshield. Instead, the bridge of my nose hit the dashboard, and I have a permanent scar there to this day.
Would be hard to get a good pic of The Hat *and* the whole of Lombard Street... but Ghiradelli's would be good! Or the Fish Market... or that Earthquake Simulator on Pier 69 or whatever...

This is the email I sent, along with the pictures:

Dear Lucky,
I received Victor's hat today and took it to Fort Point where a famous scene in Hitchcock's "Vertigo" was filmed. I hope that Vic appreciates this view of the Golden Gate Bridge. I am attaching two pictures--one to prove it's me and one to show off the hat better.
I will pass the hat on to the next lucky individual tomorrow...

Wear the hat. BE the hat. Oooh, lookit. Purty view.
The reply:

Victor was THRILLED to see the hat at such a lovely and memorable landmark and on such a beautiful day. Apparently, he's a big fan of old Alfred.
The living forget, but the dead remember. I will remember what you've done for me.
You'll be getting a little something from me, a mark of my appreciation for everyone to see.
Thanks again. It means a lot to me.

I received Victor's hat and konamouse's notebook on Thursday, October 13th.
On Saturday, October 15th, at the Jade Bar in San Francisco, I passed the hat and notebook on to spacebass.
This is not the best picture of either of us, but the hat looks perfect!

My office is totally exotic!

Hmmm. No foreign country here. Damn.

My office is beige, does that count? Damn.

Crap. It's quite ordinary. Looks like he'll reject this picture. Perhaps I should go and get it taken at the white house. Yes. That will do nicely. Tomorrow, if the sun is shining, there but for the Grace of God, Go I.[/quote]

NYC dude - you got time to send it to NY for one day? It would make Victor happy to see bagsbee and the hat near the Statue of Liberty.
I am not sure I will make it to DC on Saturday. Yes it is still a possibility -depends on how my day goes tomorrow.

Doesn't look good, rose. Tomorrow I get my pic snapped, then Saturday it's in DC for the event, then Sunday no one ships, then Monday it goes to the UK...

If anyone present at the DC cemetery is from NY (or any other local other than the DC area), they can take it back to the city (if they are going back home), and then ship it to the UK (if they are willing to shoulder the shipping costs to get it across the pond in less than 3 days). Cortana should have cyberinsekt's shipping address.

Well heres a tip, dont try passing the hat around to anyone else in your same city. I sent my pic in and Victor would not accept it. Im guessing SpaceBass and Jes already got theirs in for Portland. And i didnt get a favor for the midnight favor either, hopefully that is not because I was wearing the hat in that pic as well....
