"Toby Godden
What a guy. The most perfect taste in music, the most sympathetic and genuine listener, and the funniest linguist. A warm and curmudgeonly individual. I miss him already. I met him only once, and only said "hello Mr. Peel" (not wishing to appear disrespectful). And he nodded in reply. But I feel like I knew him well, and counted him as a freind. It doesnt seem right to be talking about John Peel in the past tense. There is no point in radio anymore. Love to his family. I wont forget him. Thanks John for being consistently great for so long. The world isnt the same without you and you can never be replaced. I am very sad. "

The Monkey Cafe (13 Castle Street, Swansea--address sound familiar?) has a DJ named Noah Redfern, aka DJ Noah. I think someone should make a visit Smile http://www.monkeycafe.co.uk/stylus.html#

It may be too late to visit the Monkey bar (At least as far as the John Peel connection is concerned). Their John Peel event was yesterday.

This may be really obvious, but the NEW PAGE shows the front cover of the actual Book Zero.

It appears to be covered with part of a child's alphabet book or poster. The letters are:

M,m Mango
N, n Nest
Q, q Queen
R, r Rose
U, u Umbrella
V, v Van
X, x Xylophone
Y,y Yak

There are pictures of each of these beside each letter (the Queen is particularly faint) and the word 'Zero' is superimposed on the cover. Each word is also given in a script from another language - anyone recognise the characters?

[EDIT] I think it may be Kashmiri, but I'm really not sure... look here for examples: http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~malaiya/scripts.html. Can someone clarify?
[END EDIT]

Two observations:

1.
The missing letters are:
O P
S T
(these lines have 4 letters each)
W
Z
(these lines have only 3 letters each, as we have a 26-letter alphabet, not 28 letters)

Presumably the other page of the alphabet covering letters A-L covers 12 letters in a 3x4 matrix.

2.
The clear implication is that Book Zero contains information we need to enter Islington's world and find the other Books. It's our alphabet, our primer for the rest of the quest.

"Now I know my ABC, won't you come and play with me?"

So what does the word Erica on the cover mean? Who is Erica? This is written in the word ZERO if you look sort of beneath it. I included a photo which makes it slightly easier to see.

And so we return to the beginning...

Apologies if I've been freaking you out, Jackalope, but I thought you had the map. Now I realise you don't, at least not yet - remember the Book Zero page says:

"Jackalope will have the map for the final starting point",
not
"Jackalope does have the map for the final starting point".

So my bad. I also thought that the book would be found at another live interaction location in London, but there's nothing that proves this one way or the other. All the information we got yesterday (Graeme's stuff, DeadDude's stuff) doesn't seem to lead in any clear direction but may be important later on. All we know is that we will need solid id and that we need to be ready on the Full Moon morning, as SOMETHING (probably a site update) will happen then.

So we just have to wait - hopefully Jack will let us know it there are any developments...

Breathing through it all, (thanks 'Alabaster Leveret')

My guess is we'll have a month until the next live event--the next full moon morning, which is November 15th. Until then we'll probably receive clues and have plenty of time to ruminate Very Happy

Not a problem Law. I was just having a bad morning, and I wasn't ready for all this to happen. I'll check my mail tonight to see if anything new has arrived in the last few days.
