But the other scribe pages have been updated, even though none of them have got us closer to the key... I think you're overdue for an update, even though you have just found out that you are a Scribe (:

Good luck with the Dutch-English writing...

On closer examination of the stones: I am almost certain they are the same stone. The shape is the same, as are the colors (one picture is taken with less light). I guess the side that is "up" on Toby's page is the side that is "down" on found 2005 page of book zero.

As for the kind of stone, I have seen it before, but I can't find what it is right now. I can only search by patern and color, so this is very inaccurate and might take a while. I will continue searching, but for now I can tell you a few stones that are not this kind of stone, but look like it:

Lapis Lazuli - this stone is usually lighter in color than the Triskabiblios one, and the paterns are different

Turquoise - most turquoises are... turquoise of color. The triskabiblios stone is not. The paterns could match in some ocasions, but are not ussual for a turquoise.

Azurite - the colors do match, though azurite usually has little bits of silver colored on them. The paterns might match, as I have not yet found out what the regular patern for a Azurite is.

Moonstone - seemed very likey because of the moon thing. But, the colors and the paterns do not match at all. On a sidenote: moonstones aren't actually from the moon, but are named that way for their silverblue shine.

Just me brushing up my (and your) rockology knowledge. I have no idea if I am wasting my time or try to solve something important, but it gets my mind of other things. Also I must say that this research is ighly inaccurate, as stones are like people, no two are the same. Exceptions on color and patern excist for every kind of stone.

Mountain Girl suggested sometime earlier it may be obsidian, and I believe she may have said of the snowflake variety.

I have also suggested lapis lazuli in the past (due to the art connection it has, it's used to make the aquamarine pigment in paint)

The striations to me look very similar to that found in white howlite (I've scanned a stone of my own and inserted it below), but it's white, not black/dark/blue. Maybe this might be able to help ya in some way.

Hope this adds to the possibilities, Raeden.

Can't be tigereye, tigereye is usually black/brown with gold stripes. It is not Obsidian, because these paterns are (i'm not sure if I'm using the correct english word) like the vein-patern on marble, and the obsidian patern is more like little flowers or clouds.
it does look a bit like howlite too, but I have never seen a black/blue kind of howlite, nor can I find a picture of it.
Also, it is not bloodstone, wrong colors and paterns.

My best bet at this moment is that it is a polished piece of marble. Though marble isn't a gem (i'm not even sure if it's a mineral), it can be polished and used as one. However, there are like a zillion kinds of marble in the world, and each kind looks different. No two mines hold the same kind of marble. Therefor it is hard to confirm this

Another option is that it is not a stone, but a piece of decorative glass. They can do incredible things with glass, and it is far from impossible to make a 'gem' like that with it. Don't ask me how though.

My ofline sources of information on gems and minerals are depleted now. I hope the internet will prove more useful. I was hoping for a more spectacular result, a stone with a meaning (like obsidian or onyx). Maybe it's just a red herring?

Although I'm just going to sound like a broken record, I still think the stone could very well be a sodalite

Yes i know it has been up for ages but i just noticed that on my scribe page Time and Mind are capitalized.. i think that part of Islingtons ... campaign for lack of a better word, may be that time is relative to the mind observing it. Or that time itself is only a product of them mind... and some of this stuff reminds me of The Butterfly Effect.. ( i don't have a link to a summary but it's a movie where this guy effectively goes back in time by reading journal entries of periods when he had these black outs when he was a kid. Whille he is back in time the slightest change has massive effects on the future [or present for him] when he returns to it.)

It was originally the background for Graeme's first scribe page. It is also the font used for book zero.

So I am not the only one who noticed it. I have written about 400 words on this yesterday (using Kant and Bergson, and mentioning Einstein) just to make it possible to write about islington's past (I hope I can cut some of it when editting).

maybe it might be a good thing to keep in. If you want i'd love to edit it for you when your done. you would have to convert it to a notebook, microsoft works, or wordpad file for me though.
