Hi,

Has a time and venue actually been agreed yet? Is there no natural leader on this forum? Very Happy

Unless anyone comes up with a better idea, how about Starbucks at 37-38 Golden Square (around the corner from Play Lounge, the UK Perplex City card outlet), at noon? I would suggest a pub, but some of our colleagues might not get in!

I'm still not sure if I can come myself, as it happens, but it would be useful to have something to aim at!

It turns out that Rob has to work and then a few hours later Rob has to babysit, so that means that there is not enough time for Rob to come down to London.

Rob is not happy.

How will we know each other? A password? A carnation and copy of the Telegraph? And do we address each other by tag or real name?

Not sure I'm prepared to go out in the real world by myself...

And when the hell are we going to sort out what the six keywords are? Won't we need them to get the seventh? Don't we need a party line on this?

I'm also good with knitting. I would berate you on such preconceptions of knitting/knitwear (you tend to wear a lot if you knit, occupational hazard), but I will let you off this time. :D If somehow we end with a clue where we need to knit something, I will have needles and yarn with me, rest assured.

I should be able to make it along with my lovely girlfirend (who doesn't think I'm too mad, and quite likes the puzzle cards).

Yay - the boyf is bringing his Skype headset home from work tomorrow, so I should be geared up in time for the big day!

Are we still planning to do a dry run of the VOIP/IRC/etc. setup before Saturday?

I'll be wearing a CubeFest T-Shirt so you know it's me Wink I do remember us having problems with identifying people at CubeFest. We sort of waved cards at the people coming in and looked suspiciously at them (some people looked quite scared). As for the location for the meet, can I suggest Cleopatra's needle? It's fairly close to Embankment station, which means easy access to the Northern, Bakerloo, Circle, and District lines. It's also close to a number of other stations, places of interest, and bus routes. It'll also give us a chance to check out the needle, see if anything is there etc. As we don't know when it starts, I'd reccommend an early start (for us) I think we should aim to congregate at 12. This gives us a chance to gather, and enough time to be able to do everything in the light. Before you come, BUY A 1 DAY TRAVELCARD! I have a really strong suspicion that we're gonna need to move a lot!. If you buy after 9, they're less than half price. So I'll see you there, then. Once again, I'll be the gurning idiot in the grey CubeFest T-shirt, possibly putting a sticker on Cleo's needle!

Perhaps something to keep in mind (particularly as it's not far from the Needle) - there's a pub in Great Queen Street in Covent Garden called the Pillars Of Hercules. (Interestingly, it's in the same street as the huge Masonic temple.)

I think somewhere warmer and roofed might be a better idea. It tends to rain in October, it'll be cold on the river bank and I'm a big girl.

Well if we're over that way, why not go to Ha Ha in VIlliers, for nostalgia's sake?

I'm all for arranging a place to meet, but until we get a solid confirmation of place/time for the event (and I don't for a moment think we'll have to wait until the day to find out) it all seems like so much hot air.

So yeah, a nice warm coffee shop would be great, but I think in the next couple of days we'll have what we need to make a definite plan.
