 		Could I offer a suggestion?

Many people do not know that the trout emoticon is a link to the first post in this thread. Maybe a subtle 'LINK' sign on the body of the trout or something would direct them to read the etymology of the phrase.

The TROUT itself is a LINK?

I didn't even know that...

(And I'm the supermostimportantperson on the face of the planet, so...)

But for real... I agree with Atrophied here... I would never have even thought that it was a link. perhaps just at least a temporary law of putting [CLICK THIS ->] Trout or something, would be good. Anyway... um yeah. I'm SHOCKED... SHOCKED and SHOCKED some more... for realz, yo...

EDIT: (although, I swear, I did read this entire thread the way through... I guess I missed where we actually did embed the link in the icon.)

 		Yes, the old 'trout' icon was one similar to those animated gifs (and the small trout you posted is the same as what is currently in use (albeit our is modified slightly).)

If you had read the thread, you would have seen that the trout in this context is not meant to be an attack (i.e. it is 100% non-violent). So, thank you for your input, but we have a perfectly servicable icon already. Smile
