[EMAILS][EVENT] Prologue complete and chat!

2 emails were recieved tonight from Seraphina Brennan
Quote:

Dear player of Section 32 and the Line of Destruction,

Congradulations on completing our prologue chapter! Let me introduce myself, I am Seraphina Brennan, the writer of this fantastic story. We hope you enjoyed our sneak peek into what we have planned for our main event, the sequel to Project Gateway, one of the most anticipated sequels, in fact, the first sequel ever announced in the ARG Community, Section 32 and the Line of Destruction.

Because we love our original gatecrashers and our new "Neo-Gatecrashers" (those who have just joined us), we wish to give you a special present for joining us for our prologue. What we are offering you is something you need to keep secure. We like to call it a "Style Code".

Your Style Code is: *censored*

A "Style Code" is a multi-functional password meant just for you players who joined us. These codes will give you some backstage access to the Chronosis Labs website, a special newsletter made just for GateCrashers, a sneak peek to our first game for the 2006 season, "JumpCrash", and special privileges in the main Section 32 and the Line of Destruction game.

Section 32 and the Line of Destruction is being billed as one of the most outstanding games to be presented in the 2006 Alternate Reality Game season. Already, the game has drawn high praise, such as:

"The sequel to Project Gateway is up and running, with a very slick design and some interesting real-world interaction thus far." - ARGN

"The site is aesthetically pleasing, and it looks like there was some serious thought put into the design." - ARGN

"This is a game that could change the fate of humanity." - Andrew Smink, ARG Reviewer

"An amazing piece of work that has unlimited potential." - Katie Durkin, Loyal Fan

Section 32 is currently in production by Chronosis Labs and will be released in the early summer of 2006, right after the first production of Chronosis, a project currently entitled "JumpCrash".

We're so happy that you decided to get onto the ground floor of this great game. So what can you expect from the game now that the prologue is complete?

First of all, www.fallingintime.com will become the official Chronosis Labratories main website in little under a week. So please don't be suprised when the website changes. We will be sure to archive Falling In Time for your benefit, and please don't hesitate to send any one of your friends to the archived form of Falling In Time so they too can catch up on on infectious story of Section 32. Also on the Chronosis Labs website will be more information about who we are, what we came to the genre for, and what we represent.

Second, I, Seraphina Brennan, wish to hold a PM chat with the players tomorrow, Thursday October 19th, in the #icarus chat room. I wish to meet alot of you personally, get to know you, find out what you thought of our pre-game, and what you would like us to do in the future, as well as answer any questions you might have.

And that's all the information I have for you right now! Cheers, and see you tomorrow!

Sincerely,
Seraphina Brennan
Lead writer of Chronosis Labratories
Quote:

Players,

We sincerely apologize. I forgot the time of the chat tomorrow.

Thursday, October 20th, at 8:00 PM EST.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Seraphina Brennan
Lead Writer of Chronosis Labs

Also, a picture was attached to the first email.

You got one - I remember seeing your name on the distribution list.

Are we really gonna have to wait next summer? I've just finished studying everything! Drat!

Wait, what am I saying - as Morale Officer I really ought to be looking at the bright side...

There are 19 names on the distribution list of the email I received (including dekethedog and sequoya, among others). Since I'm very much a 'Neo-Gatecrasher' I'm wondering if our names were picked randomly...

EDIT: (answered my own stupid question)

EDIT: And while I'm thinking about, why send us that image? Is it a diploma? Should I have it framed? I've been fiddling around with Camouflage but haven't found anything yet...

Crying or Very sad I didn't get one either. And I sent that email to Historian recently. Darn it, but nevermind.

Maybe they realised I'm a bad guy.

I have a strange feeling about this that I can't shake. The quotes, apart from the ARGN ones, I can't source. And I can't figure out who Andrew Smink and Katie Durkin are, either, except for the fact that they both used to be students at Pottsville High from my googling Razz

But, we'll see I guess Smile

The same sort of feeling is what makes me question the image. Sending out what amounts to a 'Congratulations!' greeting card seems a bit too...nice. (Or am I just so cynical, bitter and suspicious that I can't accept a pleasant gesture for what it is?)

[SPEC] about this PM chat . . .

IT'S A TRAP!

. . . At least, that's my theory. After all, Belle's orders told me not to trust someone, and she also mentioned a trap. Could be this "Seraphina Brennan" isn't who she appears to be.

I posted this over in the interactions folder last night. This would not have triggered the e-mail being sent out would it?

Quote:

[17:13] <+Huginn> Why Pottsville? What is so special about it?
[17:13] <+The_Historian> That is an interesting question.
[17:14] <+The_Historian> It seems fate, something quite out of my hands, has chosen it as a center of events that, in your perception, are physically impossible. Why it has been chosen, I am still unsure. But, it is not the city that matters, it what occurs there.
[17:15] * +Huginn nods.

I'm new to this ARG thing so bear with me. Confused
I've been lurking for the past few days trying to catch up on all that has gone on thus far. With regards to the letter we received from Mr. Pytak, the letter states that Shadown wants Rowen to finish the Pierce Project. I google mapped the town of Pottsville, PA and found that there is a Pierce St. one block south of Howard Ave. and 0.2 miles away from the Trinity Church shown in the background of the http://www.fallingintime.com/courage page.
As noted in the quote above, the Historian said that Pottsville was the center of events. So should we be looking for a project taking place on Pierce St. in Pottsville Question

Welcome new Gatecrasher recruit! Very Happy

Personally, I think the Pierce St thing is just a coincidence. (I could be wrong, but I just don't see any in-game confirmation of it being anything else, so I'd be tempted to leave it as a coincidence unless we do see any) As for triggering the email being sent out, UF is OOG (out of game) so I sincerely doubt that solely posting spec here would trigger an in-game event like this.

Plus, you could always link to your previous post, instead of repeating it in its entirety. Thanks!
